And I would not buy one with someone else's money....talk about abuse and not to mention scuffs, scratches, etc. inside.

I bought a manual Carrera in 2000 that I actually may have driven at Road Atlanta where the sport driving school was held back then. 11,000 miles and never titled. Full disclosure with complete paperwork on what was done to the car. Back then, Porsche technicians came from Germany to Charleston to do the checkout and repairs of the cars as they were “turned over” to be sold. All documented and fully disclosed. The brakes were completely redone, transmission gone over and front bumper resprayed, plus other things. Even though the cars were driven hard, they were warmed up properly and maintained under very strict guidelines. It was the best running 911 I have ever owned!

I'd like to think there is a pretty good feedback loop to Porsche engineering to spot reliability issues.

PSDS = Porsche Student Driving School?? Is that what that stands for?
I bought a year old 2015 C2S with 3000 miles on it. It had Manual, Premium Pkg Plus, Sunroof in Glass, Bose, and a lot of nice options. I knew it was a PCNA car. They told me that it was a PCNA executive car. It was a super car at a super price, new car title and 5 years warranty remaining. I enjoyed every minute of the more than two years I owned it. Recently got a great trade in for it too. I have no complaints on that 911 C2S.

I'd buy one like that again. And a buyer of one of these is likely to get special treatment from Porsche, because they support what they sell, often even when out of warranty.

I guess it depends on how picky one is. There is no way that a PSDS car looks like a new car, especially with 3k miles. And more importantly what are the odds of finding one spec'd the way one wants? I had to order to get what I wanted.

A lot of the Porsche Executive cars are spec'd quite well, the driving school cars tend to have a lot of nice performance options on them like sports seats, sometimes ceramics, etc. My last C2S was a Porsche Executive car with 10k miles. I spoke with the original owner who bought it from them and he told me he was told it was originally sold to him as a car that someone at PCNA drove. The color combo also did not match what they were using at the driving school back then and the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta did not exist back in 2011 when this car was new. Besides one issue that was present on the car, which eventually ended up causing me to sell, and a repainted rear quarter panel due to a scratch on the lower rocker panel when it was new, there were no signs it was driven hard.

Interestingly, BMW's cars used at the Performance Center are thrashed brutally and incessantly. At the end of their lifecycle (for this use) they go through the onsite body shop where all physical external remnants of the abuse is mitigated. They are then driven or transported to the Manheim auction lot (1/4 of a mile away) for disposal. The VINS on these cars with few exceptions are consecutive. When the cars are first delivered they are given to workers to break in normally. They are often wrapped on the front end, mirrors etc. After that, the thrashing begins! Course drivers will take a cold car out on the track and bounce it off the rev limiter for a complete track circuit with tires smoking the entire time. No warm up, nothing. I cringe every time I hear or see it.
PEC I'm sure also extracts everything it can from their stable prior to dumping them back into the market...

The cars don't leave the PSDS in AL in good shape. The caymans take a huge hit as they're used in the dry and wet skid pads. The Boxster is abused on AutoX. The turbos do back to back launches, hundreds of those. The worse is the manual GTSs with over reviving.
It's all good, as long as the buyer is aware. Selling as "new" or "executive demo" and not describing what that means Is misleading in my opinion.

Well, actually mine was PCNA "executive" car from Atlanta. It was not "shop worn"in any way. So maybe I should not try to lump the PSDS together with the PCNA cars. Mine was a manual, and from what I understand, the greenhorns are generally put in PDK cars. In any case, mine had no DME report over-revs.

I think the bottom line is u are saving money on a Porsche that was driven hard and every buyer has decide how much money off MSRP is worth it to buy a car that was driven by many diff people under various forms of "abuse". I would not be too worried in the short term while the car is under warranty but I would be concerned later on down the road. As long as selling dealers are disclosing the exact history of the car and every buyer should do his own due diligence prior to purchase. Just my 2 cents.
