Just to summarize, you only need the lightbar and the connector? When I search for the connector, it looks like it is no longer carried and there is a replacement. Is that correct? I don’t want to screw up and order the incorrect one. Any help is greatly appreciated.
@cipher from what I read here you can do this one of two ways. 1) Get just the light connector and splice it into the license plate power wire (can't find that part # though) or 2) using the guidance earlier in this thread and connectors from DeyTrade you can build a simple Y-Harness that taps into the license plate power without having to splice wires, therefore making the mod much cleaner and more factory like.
I ended up sourcing the plug from a local junk yard. As it turns out, the plug for the center light is actually quite common on Audi, VW and Porsche - it's a rear parking sensor connector plug. I went to a junk yard and got the plug with a pigtail for $10 that came off a wrecked Audi A6. Super cheap and simple. I did have to just slightly trim the one little notch of the plug to fit exactly right but that took two seconds with a razor knife. Again, super easy. Then I used the idea from @LWG and just tapped the license plate light on the right side, taped it up really well, wired tied the new harness to the factory wires above the license plate and done!
