Default Where's the Hole?

I took a friend's young daughter for a ride in the "race car" (my 2014, C4S). She seemed totally fascinated with the car and the ride through the neighborhood. Totally confident I'd converted a longtime Mustang owner's daughter to the dark side, I returned her back home. As we pulled into my friends driveway she unexpectedly looked up and pointed to the headliner with the most serious of expressions and said "where's the hole?" I was puzzled at first only to realize she was talking about the lack of sunroof!
My reason for relating the story is that I chose a 991.1 without a sunroof. My previous 997 had a sunroof but I rarely used it. Initially I suspected there weren't many 991's in this configuration as folks seem to relate more options to a better or more enjoyable car. Some of my colleagues at Cars and Coffee say they never open theirs because it messes up the look of the car's lines or, its too noisy or, only like the transparent one for more light inside. Others absolutely love their slider! I've noticed that numerous cars pictured here on Renn though do not have the tale-tell center button stack, which surprises me! So the question I have is: Does yours have a hole? and if so, Do you use it for anything more than a tick mark on the option list at trade in time? Lastly, if you don't have the hole. Post a picture! Here is mine, sans hole (although not a great picture to highlight this "shortcoming")!

I bought my 997.2 used and was looking everywhere for one without the hole and couldn't find any. I would have paid an additional $2K for one without. Thats how much I hate the sunroof. I never use mine, and carry that additional weight prone for creaks and rattles in an otherwise very rigid chassis.

I have the hole, and it's covered by metal. I've opened it twice in 2 years lol.

I use mine a lot, popped up in the back, to cancel the loud buffeting that occurs on the highway when the windows are down, and for more access to the sweet sound of NA PSE.

I rarely use it wide open. Its not like it opens up the car all that much, and I would have a cabriolet if that was what I wanted.

No creaks or rattles in 6 years of ownership. The weight it adds is irrelevant to me.

Use mine more often than I have in another car I have previously (or currently) own. If the weather is nice, it's open!

Ooooh, I hadn't thought of that! I really do enjoy the sound of PSE. Excellent point.

Don't have one on my .2 I ordered.
Have one on buy '79 SC and wish I didn't. May remove and fill that hole as part of the overhaul.

I've never been a fan of holes, and I've had cars where the sunroof didn't open the entire time I've owned them. But for some reason I like the open sunroof on the .2, and the fact that it's aluminum means it's not much of a weight penalty. It also doesn't get any hotter than a non-sunroof car.

If I was ordering a 991 and the sunroof was only available in glass, I'd opt for no sunroof.

I can go either way on the subject.

My old 88 16v Scirocco no hole - they leak after a while so some if not all Scirocco's with moonroofs after a while get the duct tape treatment.

The C4S..... love the steal moonroof. Most of the time it's popped up and windows down on nice days.

My PO ordered the hole. The ONLY time I use it is when parked outside on a hot day. Then I raise the back end to help vent the heat.

The glass shade is usually slid back, and on nice days, the hole is open. I like options.

My hole is really fancy, but it takes 20 seconds to get it open and I have to stand perfectly still to do it!!!

+ glass hole. More often open than not this time of the year. Makes my light interior even airier - and I can hear my vacuum cleaner swoosh even better
