Default Roof control fault Service necessary error

I got this error today on my 991.2 GTS Cab and it won’t clear. I washed it by hand over the weekend but did not lower the top after washing so not sure if it was working then. I had the engine cover up to dry after washing but it seems to be in the proper position. Any suggestions before I call the dealer? Thanks.

Did your problem resolve itself (perhaps after things dried out), or did you have to have the dealer look at it?

No change. Car is going to dealer tomorrow. I will post the findings.

Dealer found that the position switch on the wind deflector wasn't actuating. An adjustment took care of that. The roof is back in business!

Glad they found the issue, and sounds like it was an easy fix! Has it happened again? And if so, were you able to resolve it yourself?

Happened to me last night (2017 991.2 Targa 4S). SO frustrating...

Do you have the SmartTop module? If not it is well worth the money.

Search this forum on SmartTop and you will see how it works and how much everyone likes it, and here is the web site: http://www.mods4cars.com/blog/smartt...che-911-targa/

Great to hear; thank you for the confirmation! Also great to read of so many who have never had the issue.
Mine's at the dealer now. Will post the resolution once resolved.

Surprisingly few. I think I was too busy driving.

The best ones I have handy are when I was about to take the car for service, which was close enough that I could ride a bicycle home. The only detail was...how to get the bike there?

Cool...nice to see the Targa is still your choice.
