Good choice. The dealer was making you take too big a hit on the 4S and trying to get a premium on the GT3. Usually rushing Into a purchase does not give the best outcome.

I test drove .2 gts manual, and I did not like it so much.. it felt pretty heavy. I did like to turbo engine, but it wasn't like OMG

I felt it wasn't worth to trade in my .1 c4s for .2 gts with extra $

I guess to each his own. I test drove a 991.1 c2s, 991.2 gts, and a 991.1 gt3.

I thought the 991 1 c2s was a dog (in acceleration) to the 991.2 gts and overall weight felt almost the same.

GT3 was fun but on the street 991.2 gts much better.

As a dd the 991.2 gts was the right choice for me as being a dd.

You are correct, .2 GTS is better a D.D

However, it wasn't much faster than .1 ; I mean it does feel quicker and it is easier to drive fast than .1. I feel like .1 requires more attention and skills to make it fast

I have lot of experience with turbo cars and the excitement with extra torque feel wasn't attractive to me.

Don't get me wrong I do think .2 is more refined version of 991 but I just couldn't justify myself to take so much lose over gt3.

The .2 GTS is incredibly fast. With a tune it's a monster. My .2 GTS cab (so even heavier than the coupe) had no problem keeping up with my friend's Huracan Performante when he was flooring it from a slow roll. When I drove it back to back with my GTS, they felt pretty even but the extra torque in the GTS was noticeable and very enjoyable.

I had a .1 GT3 as well, and it is a monster as well, but the GTS feels faster and more powerful in every situation. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my .2 GT3 when it comes in a couple of months.

Not much faster than a .1 S/GTS?

A stock .2 GTS will gap a .1 S/GTS pretty badly.

A stock .2 GTS vs a .1 GT3 is very close. Some days the GTS will be faster and some days the GT3 will be faster. In terms of aftermarket mods/tuning it's all GTS at this point. The GT3 is pure sex though lol.

That's why I'm getting a GT3 despite having the GTS. :-) Both absolutely fantastic cars, and very different and complementary. You just can't go wrong with either one.

Alas it'll be another 4 months or so until my GT3 arrives. Just in time for winter. :-(

so let's define what not much mean... first.

and we are not talking about aftermarket mods/tuning here. I have done lot of tuning and mods when I was in 20's . but there is a dead end.. and you know what the end of the mods/tuning is? STOCK.. get better or faster STOCK car if you can afford it..

Stock .2 GTS will leave any stock .1 Carrera bus lengths behind. Especially in straight line acceleration.

I have a '17 GTS and a '13 C4S in my drive way. I've drag raced/roll raced them both against one another.. Even when the C4S got a Cobb tune it was still bus lengths behind the stock GTS.

With all due respect, your post was extremely difficult to read and comprehend.

Sorry for the difficulty, I was replying while I was watching my kids. Trust me it was like Chaos.

Anyway, back to the point, bus length for 2nd generation with new turbo engine sounds reasonable to me. I am not expecting 3.8 NA to be par or less than a bus length acceleration against 3.0T.
