Any ideas on the OEM positon of the Porsche side stripes

I got the side stripes from 'Renndecals" as well. This is 3.5" in their medium gray. I installed them half inch up from door edge because I liked them a little lower when I was mocking it up.

that mistake is a lot more common than you think. Even pros do it from time to time. I'll add another pro tip. When you layout the stripe cut off the part that is going to go on the front fender and lay that separately after you've layed the rest of the stripe. If you try to do the whole stripe in one shot, when it hits the front fender its going to want to start going downhill because the fender juts outward which makes decal not parallel to the fender/rocker join line. Look at a lot of pictures of side stripe installs and you'll see what I mean. When it doesn't match that line its pretty obvious and looks a bit off. Separating the fender part makes it easier to follow that join line of fender/rocker because the transfer tape is not really flexible enough to pull it properly as one piece into position, if that makes sense. Good luck!

I bought the striped from factory. It make it super easy to install as they have a locator strip on the bottom to line up with the bottom of the door and it has the marks to line up with the gaps. So perfect placement and fitment every time.
Yes they cost a lot more, but I am super OCD about placement.
Factory bought - applied later

Reviving this thread, what is the final consensus on exact factory placement of the side stripes?

My 2017 Endurance Racing Edition has a set of Weissach side stripes that are also available from Porsche, in Gray or Black.
There are also (I'm pretty sure they are copycat) sets of these offered on eBay for about $65, but i have not seen 'em up close.

Looks good, curious if anyone has done white decals on a white car? I know the sounds silly, but I'm thinking along the lines of "ghost flames" where you don't see it immediately unless you look closely.

Do you have an ebay link? I also have DBM. Those might also look good in grey.

Porsche used the Gray side stripes on the Black ERE's, and the Black side stripes on the Red and White ERE's.
The top stripes faded from White to Gray to Black on the Red and Black ERE's, front to back, and faded from Gray to Black on the White cars.
Somebody was selling the complete ERE decal sets in eBay fit $250. But they certainly were not OEM stripes at that price. My guess is they are decent quality tho. There are some good graphic shops around the country that create and apply almost any stripe/graphic decals u want, including race cars. Most wrap shops are not good at precise decal placement tho. Stick with a shop that does race and sports car graphics.
