Interim service
Hey, was just contacted by my local porsche dealership and they mentioned my interim service is due and it will take 5 hours and cost $1100. Does this sound correct? She said it's for a oil change, brake flush and overall check. Seems pretty high for a '17 with 14k miles on it, but this is my first porsche so I'm not too familiar with service intervals. Thank you!

Please be smart and know what your car needs.
Here's the breakdown of services.

$1100 is a bit steep. Should be 1/2 that for the 2 services you mentioned and the general over all check should be included at no charge.
EDIT: Just realized you have a 991.2...... but with only 14K miles there shouldn't be any $$$$ services needed.

Thanks. Yeh, I had seen that breakdown earlier. I believe it's every year they recommend the oil change. I was just wondering if I was missing something, bc $1100 for oil and brake flush seems pretty high. I just thought I was missing something

Had mine done last year (.1) at 10k.....was something like ~$300.
$1100 is just a joke unless there is something significantly different that needs to be taken apart on a .2??

My Indy did my 40k major for $1200! The every 10k minor (annual oil/filter) runs about $225, the every other 10k minor (oil/filter+brake fluid) is $325.
The major is the every other service plus plugs, intake service, filters (media and air), and belt (I ask for the belt, not due until 60k).
Each Service also includes a “50 point inspection” with a documented list of findings. It just goes to show that a good Indy is a great find. When I bought my 911.1 three weeks ago, he jumped on buying my 997.1 as he knew the servicing was always completed on time and all other preventative items were done before failure/required (water pump, coolant reservoir, struts, links, brakes, etc)....and he paid what I consider at the very top end for the year. It just shows that maintenance records are important to have in a resale. I wouldn’t go so far to say that I got all the maintenance money back in the sale, but pretty close.

$1100 for an oil change and brake fluid change is exorbitant.
$300-$400 for the same service is loosing money unless the trainee being pay trainee wages is doing it.
About $200 in parts (oil, brake fluid, 3 filters...) and 3 to 4 hours of work.

Exorbitant, YES! Unfortunately, this is about the same price for interim service in my neck of the woods. I actually paid this when I got my first Porsche - lesson learned. Now I try to do the work myself, such as oil and filter changes and when the time comes, I may go ahead and do my own spark plugs.

So the dealership that is quoting this is Foreign Cars Italia in Greensboro. Their prices (sales and service) are always on the high side, which I hate because I love Porsche but hate to be overcharged. I called over to Leith Porsche in Cary, and they quoted me $850 for the exact same service. Unfortunately it's 90 miles over there...so I have to weigh out that. When I was looking for a 911, their prices were 5-10% higher than most of the other dealerships. I am looking to buy a panamera 4s or cayenne s soon; hopefully I can get the right price from them but I'm not real hopeful. I'm going to call back to the Indy (Eurobahnm in Greensboro) and make sure they are using the same materials (filter, oil...) as dealerships.

So, is there any issue with using an Indy with regard to it "invalidating" any warranty-related services back at the dealer? I would hope not but sometimes the warranty issue could relate to proper interim services being done ... I suppose some written proof of those services might serve as needed to satisfy the warranty requirements?
