Interim service

Burning Brakes
I just called my service advisor at Hickory (Paramount). His name is Brent. He said it was about $625.00 there. Still seems steep to me but you'll get great service. Depending on how far away you are (I'm 80 miles and they do it for me) they'll come and pick your car up.

Thank you for all the input. I called and spoke with someone at Foreign Cars who I have dealt with in the past and have nothing but respect for. He got back to me and said that they would match the other Porsche dealership's quote in order to keep my business. I appreciate this gesture and hope that things at Foreign Cars improve. There are some really great people there and I hope to continue with Porsche /FCI for the rest of my life. You realize over time that you buy a particular car for many reasons, but poor service can really drain on that enjoyment.

Smart move on your part to let them know the competitions price and smart move on theirs to match it. I do all the recommended services on my 991.1 and she seems to be running great.

Ditto, $1,100 seems high. Just about to do the 2nd/20k mi service, I expect that to be $800-ish.

My Indy did my 40k major for $1200! The every 10k minor (annual oil/filter) runs about $225, the every other 10k minor (oil/filter+brake fluid) is $325.
The major is the every other service plus plugs, intake service, filters (media and air), and belt (I ask for the belt, not due until 60k).
Each Service also includes a “50 point inspection” with a documented list of findings. It just goes to show that a good Indy is a great find. When I bought my 911.1 three weeks ago, he jumped on buying my 997.1 as he knew the servicing was always completed on time and all other preventative items were done before failure/required (water pump, coolant reservoir, struts, links, brakes, etc)....and he paid what I consider at the very top end for the year. It just shows that maintenance records are important to have in a resale. I wouldn’t go so far to say that I got all the maintenance money back in the sale, but pretty close.

Your indie included the belt for the 40K service? I got a 40K done (due to years as my car has way less than 40K miles), and they did all that, but they said the belt isn’t included in the 40K and has to be done as an extra service. My price was around yours, but I live in an area with high prices (but a lot of options) so I imagine a dealer would have asked $2K or more for that same service.

All info available here on the forums.
Here's a link to the Serpentine Belt replacement which also has links to the other DIYs: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1043829-991-1-serpentine-belt-replacement-diy.html
