Funniest thing of all, however, is that Porsches aren't built for drag racing. They just happen to excel at it, if that's your thing.

Your AMG is 517HP at the wheels. COBB tuned GTS is supposed to be 500HP at the wheels. I know which one I would be backing (If the claims are accurate and same dyno's) Merc a lot heavier and will be a tyre fryer.

and the AMG C63 S weighs 3850 pounds... with no fuel.

dont get me wrong, the AMG is one hell of a car. My guess is in a straight line with enough room the car will fly.

Sounds like you have a few awesome cars. You must have a blast driving them.

4 point 0: But the Cobb has just be shown to be 470 at the wheels, not 500. So, the tuned AMG is 517hp at the wheels compared to 470hp.

The Renntec chart is already reduced by 14% to compensate for loss from crank to wheels.
I dont know if the Cobb dyno chart took that into account or not...
Assuming they did, the difference is still nearly 50hp which is significant.

We are thread hijacking here. I have the Cobb tune on my GTS and I agree that it is a fantastic tune with plenty of room to grow.
I am very happy I did it and I find it to be a worthwhile improvement with very little if any sacrifice in reliability.
I might also add that from 3000-6000 it pulls like a freight train.

All dynos read a little bit differently. The OP was kind enough to share his graph from a "Dyno Dynamics" session which has a reputation of providing numbers at the wheel which are significantly lower than other brands such as Mustang, Dynojet and Dynapack.

What we do know is that the OP was kind enough to provide numbers from both stage I performance and stage 0 (stock equivalent). There is a delta of 19% which matches the performance COBB advertises.

That's great feedback. I expect my box any day now. I also ordered the AMS - Alpha intercoolers.

///Method, sorry for the thread jack and thanks for the info. I look forward to stage 2 and Stage 3 : )

I raced my friend's tuned AMG GTS in my tuned GTS cab, and he pulled away from me from a roll, but not by much. I suspect that if I had a coupe I would have a slight edge, or the cars would be pretty even. I would imagine a C63S would fare worse than the AMG GTS.

As another data point I also went up against my friend's Huracan Performante, and he couldn't shake me at all. The cars felt very even.

Interested in your feedback on the IC's once installed. The TIAL offering is just now coming to market. Im sure the two will be very similar in their performance. AMS is known for quality stuff.

Im planning on running IC's also down the road.

Will be great to see what the AMS ICs do in the real world. Their data on their website looked good.

On a side note, I saw on the Vektor Performance Facebook page that the first production run of headers is complete.

Yes, why did they all release at the same time. I will need to sell a kidney. Vektor also offer the white lightening ceramic coating. My AMS IC should be here on Thursday (two days - already Tuesday now : ) I'm speaking from your future. GMT +10 ) But the box for tune hasn't arrived, so I gather they will show up together. But if I pull the ECU, I won't be able to move the car to get to the shop and have the IC fitted.

Third world problems.

I was thinking that this morning.

The Vektor headers look great, but are they worth 1k or so over the Kline headers? Hmmm..

By making modifications on a new car you void the warranty? Or can you uninstall modifications?

This question has been discussed in every modification thread currently hosted on Rennlist. Please google this or search here. Short answer, yes you can, but the dealer has to prove the modification caused the failure.
