I was very impressed with the quicker throttle response and increased torque.
And this was a base 911! It made my 991.1 Targa feel slow.
Trying not to upgrade now...

The 991.2 is a really fantastic car.
The additional low-end torque makes it a really nice DD, and a much better one than the 991.1
For those who say the 991.1 sounds better. I suppose the 991.1 sounds different, for sure, but better? That's a personal opinion, but I for one have never thought of the 9A1 or really any Porsche flat-6 to sound all that great.

Oh it be real alright. I was lined up to buy a 991 GTS. Drove my highly modded M4 there. Thought to myself, the M4 would take this car. Drove a 991.2 Game on buddy! Bought the 991.2 GTS.
I like the sound of the N/a's. Perhaps they do sound a little better than the turbo. But make no mistake, the turbo goes a lot harder. : ) A few mods and the gap is insurmountable.

Everyone talks about the sound of th .1......but to be honest when I drove a .1S and .2S back to back I couldn’t tell much if any difference in sound, and they both were equipped with performance exhaust. However, the .2 was noticeably quicker and more buttoned down than the .1S in every way. After driving both it was a no brainer to go with the .2. In reality both sounded fine to me, but compared to the C7 Z51 I just sold with performance exhaust, they are BOTH weak in that arena. I didn’t move to the Porsche for sound......that’s for damn sure!

I have 991.1 4s.. and.. yes I did drove 991.2 s... it is definitely faster car and it is easier to drive... perfect for D.D too..
I had many many turbo cars for the same reason.. low end torque and more practical power. but I needed some change.. I missed high rev N/A and always wanted one.
I didn't need faster car, I have stage 2 S6, and I think S6 is plenty fast for my need, but it is somewhat boring. that's why I picked NA 991
Don't get me wrong 991.2 has better steering and somewhat better look with updated tail light and front bumper, but it did not justify 50k for me..
If money wasn't an issue and I was looking for a fast fun car.. I would have picked GT3 touring..
I don't understand people fighting for 991.1 vs 991.2 nothing is better than the other.. it is just different car for different need.

I drove a 2017 2S and a 2015 GTS cabriolet and found the N/A engine sounded much better, in my opinion. As far as power i think the difference is negligible but that could be because it was GTS vs S?? i ended up going the 991.1. My only regret is that my GTS is not a manual.
Both 991 version i think are great, i just preferred the sound and high rev power of the 991.1.
