Default Windshield reflection from tan dash

2013 911.1 Cab.S, Agate Grey with Tan interior and dash...color combination looks great, but the tan dash can cause really distracting glare when the sun is just right. Curious if anyone else experiences this and what solutions are out there: 1) just live with it; 2)get some good polarized sunglasses; 3)repaint part of dash with flat-black; 4)sell it and get 2019 GTS.

This is a known issue, as a matter of fact there was a lawsuit regarding this very issue. Your options are (1), (2), (3) and (4). It is kinda annoying, but you do get used to it after a while and notice it less. Just the same, I wound up trading in mine.

#2 is correct.

I received $150 from the class action.

It's never been an issue for me. I've had a few light colored Porsche dashes. Seating position and the person's height matters a fair bit, too.

There is actually a warning in the configurator about this:

”A word about interior color choices:
Glass is reflective. Certain lighting conditions may cause a lighter color dashboard to produce a noticeable reflection on the inside of the windshield. To make certain that you are satisfied with your selection, ask your Porsche dealer to arrange a test drive experience in a variety of conditions, including with use of polarized sunglasses.”

If I end up down the line with a tan dash in a car I would probably cover it with a custom dash mat.

I only got $75. How did you score $150; 2 P-cars?

I forget. I think it's because my custom sun clips are over $175 each and the maximum settlement amount for an original owner was $150.

Not any sort of expert on window tint but have you talked to any good installers? Easy to overlook simplest fixes first so just a thought. Never had trouble as have espresso dash but after doing research on the Huper Optik 60 ceramic installed I realized there are benefits I may have overlooked.

There is now, because of the lawsuits.

The light color dash was not a big deal for me until I started reading about it here in the forum. Then it started to bother me..
The power of suggestion is real. LOL
I got a $75 dollar settlement from Porsche for my $279 Maui Jims.

My car is in for service and I can a Macan loaner with a tan dash. Was really surprised to see just how strong the dash glare is! It was significantly impacting visibility in the fairly early morning sun.

I hadn't seen photos of this before so I took a couple just to share. I'm surprised they are still offering this.

How tall are you? I think a lot of this has to do with seating position, too. I've had many light leather dashboards. Never an issue. Almost always have sunglasses on, so that helps a ton. I'm 6'2" and sit in a very upright position.
