Default Would you do this trade?

A well-equiped Targa GTS for the next GT4 and a Macan S? (I have been promised a spot for the next GT4 allocations, I would keep my Targa GTS until the order locks).

My Targa GTS has really taken a beating this winter, and I think for that reason the Macan S would be a better daily driver. I took one when my car was in for service and I was pleasantly surprised by it's utility. I would use the GT4 for nice summer days and track duty. Thoughts?

I would do it too, that way the GT4 can stay clean and it will also feel more special when you do take it out.

Assuming you can swing the $, and you don't need the 911 rear seats, all day. The new GT4 will be stunning.

It depends. Are they waiving all ADM on the promised GT4? What discount are you being offered on the Macan? What trade-in value are they projecting for your DD GTS Targa? They may be offering you this “consideration” with an entry-level GT car in exchange for taking you to the cleaners on the deal. Also, have you driven a current Cayman S or last-gen GT4 and generally like it enough vs your 911?

No. The Targa GTS is already your car and it is unnecessary to get two new cars to replace it. Drive a different car in winter instead of the Targa GTS, but know that there are those who DD 911s.

Keep the Targa, but also buy the GT4 and Macan.

Keep the Targa. Buy a Ford for the snowy days.

This can't be a straight up trade, can it? How much $ will you have to add? I just drove a friend of mine's Cayman GT4 and thought it was an amazing car, better platform than the 991.

For track the Targa is not very well suited whereas the GT4 is superb. The Macan is a fine car but for winter use, I’m not sure a Porsche SUV is really the best choice. Get a Land Cruiser or a Subaru.

Math doesn't add up here....

Average Macan S = $60K
Average GT4 = $100K

Trade straight up for a used Targa GTS?? Hmmmmmm....

Need more info on this story which omits the details.

Not a straight up trade, obviously would cost me some, that’s not the issue, is it a more desirable combination?

Really only you can answer that as only you truly know your use case. Hate to cop out like that but it’s true. Macan is nice as a DD but it’s still an SUV. GT4 will be awesome but how often will you be able to take advantage of it? Do you / will you track it? GTS is a great all purpose utility sports car. If you’re not going to be able to use the GT4 for what it’s intended use case is than stick with the GTS.

I figured. The way you presented the topic wasn't very clear and misleading.

Here's an idea, keep the GTS Targa and buy a pre-owned or new Macan S. I bet you will cost you less $$$ or same amount than trading it in for a GT4 and difference you'll pay.

The Targa GTS can play many roles and a GREAT all around sports car.

I want something better for the track and FYI I live in Canada, if I lived in Texas or California the Targa GTS would be a keeper.
