Default Trading in for identical car

I'm tire kicking essentially the identical car as my car (build sheets are within $1000 of each other) that's a CPO at the dealer. The car for sale has the same build month as mine, and the VINs are within 100 cars off the line. Mine has about 7000 less km on the odometer. BTW, both are '17 base Carreras.

I slightly prefer the options on the other car, and the main reason that I would make the change is colour.

Question: How much should I expect to pay difference? I'm essentially buying the CPO warranty, and paying for the paperwork on both cars, CPO inspection for my trade-in, and prep for sale on my car. Plus whatever profit the dealer wants to make.

My initial thought is that this will be cost prohibitive, yet it doesn't hurt to inquire. Thanks.

If you want a different color, think about wrapping it. Cost I think is in the $4K ballpark.

Sell yours privately or through Shift.com. You're leaving a lot of money on the table via the dealer trade.

Possibly, but only paying tax on the difference.

I did this one time. The car I bought was black and hated it. Traded in for an identical car ( same year, same everything) except the color was yellow. Never regretted it.

Did the same thing recently. Ordered a low option GTS in Gt Silver. Another one popped up at my local dealer in White and way better options. So just went for it. Glad I did.

I am just guessing about the amount but the dealer will surely want to make a profit on your car as well as the car you want to buy. Say 4-5k on each car. Unlikely they would want to do the swap for little money.
That along with the cost of CPO will probably result in a differential of 8-9k. Maybe less but it won't hurt to ask I suppose.

Are you looking at the silver one in Calgary?

What if we did a 3-way trade? I take yours, you take the silver one and the dealer takes my 991.1 S. Feel free to PM me your build details. Never hurts to look at options.

That's the one! I'll send you my build. I'm looking at it tomorrow.

Edit: PM sent

Do it if you want it.

I did back in 08 for a color change with an Audi RS4. Went from Sprint Blue to Ibis White w/TI package and ever regretted it.

It was such a special car ...... loved it ....... and still stalk it on-line and facebook.

Nope. Saw it today. Actually prefer my car, which is a relief.
