Default New 991.1 Owner Coming from a 996

Hello All,

New 991 Owner here coming out a 996. Trying to absorb all the new information and differences between the two because there are obviously a ton! Loved my 996 (Aero c2 6 speed) and had it for roughly 33k miles or about 5 years. Decided to change up as I had this pristine 991 come through my dealership I work at and just had to jump on it. It is a 2013 model and I picked it up with only 9,700 miles on it. It is a 7 speed manual and although I will admit it was definitely not my first pick for interior color, I love pretty much every other part about the car so far (with the exception of the orange corners, clear ones are already ordered). Could not find a single rock chip, scrape, or interior blemish when I picked it up. I will be reading through the forum as much as I can, but any quick tips, tricks, or pointers would be greatly appreciated! Taking my time going through the owner's manual now. Cheers!!!

Nice find. Nothing like finding a basically new 911. Do you have pictures of the inside?

Congrats! I came from a 996 into two new(er) Porsches (981 & 991) and couldnt be happier. They are VERY different but I’ve never looked back. The ONLY gripe I can think of is that (IMO), the Bose was better in the 996. Our Porsches are both manual with Sport Chrono; some on here don’t like the Rev matching, I LOVE it.

Great looking car, and it sounds like you bought well. Manual with the 3.4 is sweet!

Thanks everyone! I'll snap some interior shots as well later on. It is growing on me a bit until i see photos of the red or black interior ones haha. Getting used to the rev matching as well and also the 7th gear. Muscle memory throwing me off a bit lol

Rare build for a 991.1 C2 with PASM and Sport Chrono. Enjoy it!

Big 996 fan here after 2 TT's. Great cars very underrated. You will love the 991. Just better in a lot of ways, ride, handling, speed, and much nicer interior. Good luck, enjoy.

Great car. Congrats. Luxor beige is a nice alternative to coal, I mean black. You’ll need polarized sunglasses most of the time during the day, but big deal. Seats may pick up the dye from jeans. It cleans up easily. Our Cayenne luxor interior looks new after almost 5 years and 34k miles. Enjoy the car.
