I've had multiple matte/satin finish wheels, looks just as crap on those as my glossy wheels. And even harder to clean than glossy wheels.

Had matte HRE's on my 4S and they looked like crap too from brake dust so I cleaned and coated them. Don't think the gloss is any more work.
