Default Drivers Seatbelt rattle when engaged

I've been getting a strange rattle from the drivers seatbelt when it's engaged. It's almost like the female part is not tight enough against the male part and it just rattles away.

Anybody else have this or have a fix. It only seems to happened when strap is locked in.

Same issue on my 981. With the top down, I don't notice it....with the top up is annoys the heck out of me!

My thought is that it's not really a piece to disassemble/repair. Was going to attempt to spray some white lithium grease in there, but didn't want it to transfer to the male piece and get on my clothes. Will probably just replace it with a new one once I can't tolerate it any longer.

I had same problem on my 16 gts. I spray little bit of Wurth HHS-K and rattle's gone. Before spray cover interior surfaces and use it little as possible. Silicone spray type won't work. HHS-K is liquid when you spray but it'll become like grease upon drying. So it's very effective on this type of situation. Also clean male side of seat belt few times for few days of use. Good luck.

Oh forgot to mention before spray wrap bottom part of seat belt with paper towel or towel to prevent fluid dripping.

Thanks so much for this information. Can you describe where on the bucket you spray? On the outside or inside?

I just took the pictures for demonstration. You have to spray inside female lock. HHS-K comes with nozzle as shown. You don't have to spray a lot, 2 or 3 short burst will be enough. Make sure cover as much as you can and wrap bottom part of female lock to prevent dripping. After spray leave wrap for a while to absorb any fluid. It's just precaution but I used few towels to cover surrounding area. Put seat belt few times on and off then clean male side. Does noise come on certain situation? My driver's side made noise whenever I made right turn. And it was like clicking sound.

Try tugging up on the top part of the belt that crosses the chest. This helps tighten the buckle parts so they don't rattle around as much. It works for me ~50% of the time.
