Talk Me Out of Getting a Black 911

Black is great - love it! BUT - you need to get it coated with quartz, like CQuartz's Finest Reserve or the likes. Makes it much, much easier to maintain.

Have fun doing that anytime you want the car to look beautiful. BTW, it's the same procedure if you DON'T wrap it (in case the OP has never owned a car).
I do, however, want to modify my original answer. I just came off a black Panamera, which, because it is two square miles of surface area, was just a b*tch to keep looking nice. I had forgotten that my Boxster was black and took 7 minutes to wash. The 991 would be more like that one obviously.

If you jones for a black car, then you will always have that itch until you scratch it.
Nothing looks like a freshly polished black car driving down a lighted boulevard at sunset.
I have owned six black cars...one after the other.
I now own a silver car. Ask me why.

All the pro black color owners have shown their cars' potential of winning concours title. They all look gorgeous, spiffy clean, shiny, glossy with that distinct "wet" look. No car can transform from utmost spiffy shine to eyesore as quickly as black color. Thumbs up for those that shown us these pictures and I can appreciate the care and effort put into it.
