How is a warrantied 2012 not covered by Porsche? Crosspost - 991 fire
Car was a 991.1 C2S
Had an engine fault warning on the dash up. It did say safe to drive. I saw steam out the rear view and declined by shutting the car off.
The car was ablaze within minutes.
sorry you have to copy and paste in your browser, and I’m in Canada.
Why does this go to my insurance instead of Porsche dealing with the cause and resulting damage?

Porsche may not want to take responsibility for something they can't investigate the cause of easily. Hopefully it doesn't ding the insurance record. Sorry for the loss but after the shock I'm sure the plans will start forming.

Can’t wait to see how many recalls from Porsche this generates for us 991.1 owners! Looked like fuel pouring out from under the back end before the flames started. Sorry for your loss mate. Start shopping for your 991.2!

2) I have insurance for any increases in my rates
3) A plan may be forming. I’m still sick about seeing this car going out this way.

That appears to be the cause of this catastrophic loss. (To humanity)

Are you able to share any details here?
- how many miles were on the car?
- did you have the car from new, and know the service history?
- when had it last gone in for a service?
- any prior issues or engine work?
- unusual occurrences before CEL came on?
etc???

Btw, if you want to change the title of the thread, you can do so in advanced - but only for a limited time. So.. change it soon.

You should talk to a lawyer in Canada, instead of posting here, if you want to understand why Porsche is denying a warranty claim (if in fact it is).
