Responsibility will follow root cause analysis. Porsche doesn’t investigate every claim of loss. Insurance companies do.

Thank you for sharing this and please let us know what they find out.
I hope your insurance company resolves this to your satisfaction and I am very sorry for your loss. It broke my heart when my car was totaled. To see your car go up in flames is sickening. So sorry that this happened.
Most importantly, glad that no one was hurt!

There was a gas station across the street to the left of the car - I have to ask did it occur to you (OP) to run over there get a fire extinguisher rather than videoing it? Might have been able to save the vehicle .....and that's not warranty, that's insurance as others have said. Your insurance company will determine if they can recover from Porsche for a defect, let them do their job.

That's oil on the ground too, right?

This is clearly a matter of insurance, not warranty. If the insurance company wants to go after Porsche, that's their decision to make. The OP can start looking into what the insurance company should be paying him for the loss, and be prepared to negotiate should he deems that number be too low.

This is a cross post. Most of the discussion is on the original post.
The car was inspected by Pfaff Porsche Certified Collision Center shortly after the minor low speed collision. It was deemed safe to drive.
The warning that displayed said engine fault, possible to drive.
Thought more about that today and am feeling a little better knowing I declined.
I thought I responded but may be on primary post.
