Wow, well at least they caught it. While the delay sucks, I would much rather that happen and they build another car than take delivery of one that had been crashed at the port (and repaired) and sent on its way...
Sorry to hear that this happened. Good luck!

Yikes!! So sorry but it seems like they are trying to get it manufactured as soon as possible.

Don't worry, they'll just buff it and a quick bondo/paint job and you'll never know.

I had a similar experience 7 years ago. I had ordered a new Panamera Turbo that was supposed to be delivered in May 2011. Everything seemed to be on track, car was built, transferred to the port, and seemed to waiting to get on a ship. And waiting. And waiting. After a couple of weeks went by with no movement, my dealer called PCNA to find out what happened. They called Porsche Germany and learned that "the car had been irreparably damaged during transport." I never heard any more details, but I always had a vision of it having fallen off a truck... So they lined up another build slot, another car was built, and it was delivered in August instead of May. The only bright side was it was an early 2012 MY vehicle rather than a very late 2011 MY vehicle. I drove that car for 75k miles over 5.5 years and it was a great car.

They almost never drive them any more. And while I can imagine a robot "oops" crushed your car, its hard to think how this could happen without jamming up their whole timed to the second production line.
I would be just crazy curious to learn what happened.

Bummer. How much of a delay will this be? I hope they recreate a build sheet and put you in front of the line.

Sorry to hear.
All these cars get driven. Some more than others. Just look at the ODOs, and you'll see.
Your replacement car will be built in May. Shipped in June. And delivered in July. Sounds like a 1 month delay. Not too bad.
