re the numbers he mentions, who knows, but at least he should have said something Re the Australian allocation, which I understand is/was only about 30 cars. And the majority of the Aus cars, from my dealer sampling, were PDK, sad (but mine is the self shifter).

Today I drove the Carrera T about 45 miles, mainly on back roads, to a friend’s heated storage facility where I keep my ‘86 Targa for the winter. Temps were in the low 40s and conditions were dry, maybe the last chance to exercise the old 911 until winter eventually begins to moderate. Not knowing the local roads very well I made a couple turns and stumbled onto a Virginia scenic byway with nice smooth asphalt, no traffic and plenty of curves. Despite having been in storage for nearly 6 weeks the Targa ran perfectly. There is nothing like the feel of these older 911s. The steering is heavy (unassisted) and each gearshift requires a little finesse. The whoosh and clatter of the engine is magnified by the cold air. After a half hour or so I decided to head back and got slightly lost, and found another great road. There aren’t many bad country roads out here an hour west of DC. Just discover them. Using a GPS is not nearly as much fun.
When driving back home in the CT the roads were more familiar as was the much more modern character of the car itself. The fun of driving the CT is different from the older 911: the CT has power and style, and fantastic mechanical precision. The steering is really quick. The sounds are good but not quite as complicated and unpolished as the Targa. I could do without the touchscreen..

Very nice Pep!RRRR. I've been in northern VA since the late 80s. When I'm in shape and biking (road bike), I love riding out toward Middleburg, Bluemont, Delaplane, etc. I started riding in those areas in the late 90s. So beautiful. And now, I drive my T around those same areas. You miss a lot of the scenery driving vs riding a bike, but hey, it's a hell of a lot of fun.

PDLS (dark surrounds) on Carrara White Metallic
Hoping someone out there could help me out (with some pictures?) Going back and forth on the pdls option. Dealer threw in clear side markers. The trim isn't much of a "blackout" theme. Trying to figure out if the lighter trim in the std headlights, or the darker trim in the pdls option, will better suit the overall look on carrara white. If anyone has a white T, would appreciate a front end shot, thanks in advance!
