Thanks Pete! Seeing your videos has definitely given me the confidence to do my own DIY projects.
I might even try to do the deviated stitching that alex_c did on his Ts shifter boot. I was not impressed with the quality of the shifter boot: held together with a cheap plastic part and the “leather” stapled to the plastic. I’m not sure if it’s real leather or not.

Interesting, they make it for the GT4 but not the 911? They use the same shift boot for both?

Haliax, nice job. I’d take the free leather trim over the black plastic. Brushed aluminum also looks very nice.

Thanks Porsch! I definitely would have also taken the free leather trim option if I had ordered my car from the factory. Mine was a “lot” car though, so my only option was to DIY some different trim.

I also installed anthracite trim in my T and it is so much better. The fingerprint magnet, scratch attracting gloss black had to go. Now my T Is even more perfect. I had this sitting in my basement from a project I did on my 2017 991.2 c2 cab that I sold.

That's nice. I think I'm gonna stick with the gloss plastic for a while. I didn't want leather and the aluminum is too costly of an aftermarket change for me. I do get the reason one would want to do it though. It's something you immediately will see a difference in. Maybe if the gloss gets messed up over time, I'll change my mind.

I actually like the gloss black. It goes with the no frills nature of the car. Only thing I might consider is carbon fiber trim for the extra horsepower.

My thinking is that the gloss black would kind of go with the gloss carbon on the LWBs. I like it.

On my drive to work this morning I could evaluate the Anthracite aluminum trim in normal daylight and I love it. In the regular light you can see it has a little darker hue to it than the normal brushed aluminum trim and looks understated and classy.

Porsche should have offered this as a factory upgrade on the T. As it is now, I believe the only cars that can order the Anthracite trim from the factory are the GT models.

Here is a photo of it in daylight:
