Default Radio Volume at Start-Up

Hello, first post, just bought my first 911, a 2016 Black Edition Coupe. I'm still getting it adjusted, and still adjusting to it! When I turn on the car, the radio comes on at a very low volume. I would prefer it came on at no volume at all, but would still like the PCM to be on. Is there a setting for volume at start-up?

just push the power button once....... that puts it in "mute mode" and it will stay that way at start up

Thanks. Unfortunately mine doesn't seem to work that way. I'm pushing the power button once every time I drive and the volume is back whenever I next start the car.

For things like NAV and PHONE/BLUETOOTH to work in the 991.1, the PCM system has to be ON.
If you push in and HOLD the volume **** for a couple of seconds, it will shut OFF the PCM (screen goes black) and it will remain OFF upon your next start-up.
But, when you want your phone to hook-up to the car, again, you'll have to hit the volume **** and turn the PCM back ON.
It's a Porsche "quirk." And as annoying car quirks go, it's a pretty minor one.
Did they fix this in the 991.2 cars? Lord knows enough owners have bitched about it.

This is the only way to "mute" when the car starts. If you regularly use an input that is going to have sound on it when you start the car then you have to choose if you want to switch to an input with no signal before shutting the car off or push the PCM **** when you start the car. Like most, I just mute it after I start the car.

Thanks all. I set Source to Jukebox (empty) on the last drive, makes sense that that will be silent on restart.

Crazy-*** annoying aspect of the car. Major upgrade to the new PCM which doesn't do this.

I'm not in my car now,but why not turn volume down and hit the key button on the door to save the setting? You may need entry & drive for this feature?

I will have to double check, but I believe PCM always reverts to the same volume when the car is started.

mike2537, doesn't seem to work on my car. Volume is always the same low level at startup if source is radio, regardless of memory use. I don't have entry & drive.

go.illini, if you mean the same volume every time, regardless of where you left it, that seems to be the case.

Setting Source to Jukebox solves the start-up irritation issue, but then you have to tab back to radio if you do actually want to listen to it. So far, I'm only listening to the engine.

You don't need entry-drive but I'm sure you will need a seat package with memory function for the key memory feature. So I guess no door key button = no feature.
