It seems to me that if you take the new Carrera T and do a tune for $2k you can get the HP up to 475 which is in the spirit of what some people were doing to the RSA back in the day. I don't have the article but I remember reading it where you could do a few things to a RSA and make it quicker than a turbo of the same era. Something like a muffler, filter and "chip". Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My car will get a tune for sure. I'm not looking for max HP, just the little extra bit the factory should have given the T.

I’m looking into tune as well. Posted elsewhere, my tech said the turbo housing is the same for all models up to GTS. They machine out to larger diameter and replace wheels, then with tune, they got about 200hp on a 4S.
So for our cars, ECU tune only, 90-110hp, with either a S or GTS turbo size, up 200 possible. That’s more than plenty.
My plan is to drive car for about one year, then get the ECU TUNE, then consider turbo upgrades in a couple of year.

I'm curious how the motor feels with the tune since the base motor has very little lag stock compared to the S and GTS. I also noticed that the power gain was higher for a base then it was for the S/GTS engines. It seems like Porsche left a lot of room for improvement on the base 3.0 motor.

Thoughts?
Personally, I'd go for these Agate/red graphics.

First I have to pick it up. Maybe today if they get it prepped.

What I'm most interested to see is the interior option I chose. Black sport tex, no striping but with extended leather. It's going to be a rare mix.

Exciting times!

I would really like to know the definitive answer to how many 991 Carrera Ts that Porsche are going to build...

I love the idea of this build. Did you consider the Rotiform CUP wheel? It’s a custom forged RS America tribute wheel. http://www.rotiform.com/cup-w-25377.htm

The Roti didn't do it for me.

Some photos so far.

Custom door sills and RS America floor mats

I hate doing stripes!

They turned out ok though.
