Strange (noise) thing happened yesterday...

I went on a short jaunt / spirited drive on the below pictured (relatively uneven) road... When leaving the area, I heard a ‘clang’ [actually, several] when I hit a bump/dip in the road. Kind of like a hard “bottoming out” on certain corners or bumps. I switched to the suspension between settings a few times... stopped to check under the back for anything obvious... and drove carefully towards home. After a few miles of hearing the occasional ‘clang’ (it sounded like something like the exhaust was loose, but knocking only on the larger bumps) the noise happened less frequently. 50 more miles, and no noise. Today I went out again, same types of roads and not one issue. I’ll be at a dealer in the next few weeks.. but, the issue seems to have resolved itself. Pretty odd.

Anyways, besides that, great weekend behind the wheel!!

I "think" it happened to me once and it scared the hell out of me. I thought the bump I drove by damaged the suspension. But it does sound like it was "bottoming out". Fortunately I have not heard anything weird or new sound again since then through most of the bumps.

Was it perhaps a rock that was thrown up into the suspension? I've heard that before as well.

That's kind of what I am suspecting, but didn't want to lead the Tuesday morning jury. It's all better now, so I suspect that was it.

I spent 5 hours behind the wheel... learning about "slow in, fast out". How different does this PTV enabled car feel from other non PTV P-cars?

Love. This. Car.

Mine did not sound like typical rock. It was loud enough that it sounded like something to do with the suspension but definitely sound like it was bottoming out because it was a big dip.

Well I finally got my T the other day. I am very happy with my spec. I love the wheels! The rear axle steering seems to be pretty awesome. I will post a more detailed review when I have time and also a comparison of my 987 Spyder and M3.
But just a brief note...the Carrera T is BY NO MEANS loud inside because of the thinner glass! I have no idea what people are saying about this....have you driven a spyder?
I like the feel of the T for sure! It seems to be a great car and it certainly feels "connected". However, nothing like the same feel as the 987 Spyder. I had a GT4, many GT3's, etc. etc. so I feel like I can be objective in comparing the feel of these cars, although most will be from memory which is by no means ideal. But I will do back to back drives in the T, Spyder, and M3 so I can have it all fresh in mind. I will try to post more thoughts when I have an opportunity.
I have really enjoyed the enthusiasm this forum has shown for the Carrera T and it has certainly set my hopes high. I hope I am as enamored by this car as many of you are! More to come....

Great looking car and garage.....

I Have white with similar interior. I know Alex did the shifter boot red stitching himself but I ordered this from Suncoast, only alcantara with guards red stitching I could find. There is also a leather shift boot with guards red stitching.

Does not say 911 but....... can always return or sell.

GT3 Nut, those Sport wheels look a lot better on silver than I expected. Maybe because the thick spokes play off of the door sicker's width. Good choice, I may need to look for a set as spares.

GT3, really nice looking garage. ...I mean, car. (I have the GT Silver and the LWB/T interior as well). I concur.... those wheels look great! Welcome aboard. I'd be interested to hear your driving impressions given your previous P-experience.
