Would you buy a new 911 if the the closest dealer was 150 miles away?

I can understand your concern about having your car serviced by a dlr 150 miles away. But living in DSM myself, along with 150 other Porsche households here in the Schonesland Region of PCA, I can tell you that we couldn't be more blessed to have Porsche of Omaha for their support. They are professional in every aspect and will take great care of you. Having said that, I have owned a 996 and 997 and two Cayennes, both purchased new from P of O. These modern Porsches have very few service issues. I also believe that it's just a matter of time before this market has a Porsche dealership.
There are a lot of great sports cars-but then there's the 911. There's nothing like it. Or as the saying goes, "there is no substitute".

My dealer is about 100 miles away. When my car needs to be serviced they bring me a loaner and pick up my car. They even do the same with my wife's 2009 C4S which is well past it's warranty period and wan't purchased there. I can walk to the M-B, Audi and Nissan dealers from my house, but I'll put up with a little inconvenience to drive a 911.

IF you enjoy your cars, you'll make the distance work. The closest dealership is just over 100miles away for me. The place I've serviced my Porsches is however 145 miles away. My panamera 4S needed to be flat-bedded out twice to the further dealership, no such issues with the 997.2 or 991.2. Take the day to drive it in for service and enjoy the drive. Get a loaner and make something of your day wherever you're getting it serviced. Call me mad but I also service my other two cars about 145 miles away except for the minor services on the Infiniti Qx56 (QX80) truck. The only (near) and Luxury brands I have in town are Volvo, MB and BMW. Buy your Porsche and enjoy it, life's too short.

I've spent 1/2 a day at a dealership for service and other things. Most of the time I'd get a loaner but sometimes not as I am not adverse to making a day out of the trips. When I was in Phoenix the nearest dealership was across town in Scottsdale...which for me was about 1 hr in rush hour traffic and 50 miles or so away. I know its not 150 miles but my point is...I'd find something to do...a movie to watch...a meal to eat and make a day of it sometimes when I needed to take my car in. Just take a look at whats around your dealership and just go explore.
Get the car you want and let them come get it and give you a loaner if needed. Enjoy the ride and remember you are not promised tomorrow.

I’m also busy and family/kids first, but I would take that $150 miles trip as once a year occasion that I can really drive my car and ‘talk’ to her. Since I got mine 2 weeks ago, I only managed to put 200 miles on it in local traffic! I wouldn’t want to pass any chance I could drive it!

I am on Porsche # 5. They are tough and reliable. The only time mine go to the dealer is for warranty work or recalls, otherwise I do my own wrenching on anything routine or fairly simple. Wouldn't deter me in the least to buy one where the dealer is 2 hours away.

Hmmmm - sounds like a great justification for a lift Pulling the bumper is a hassle but not as bad as you'd think. Patience and youtube and there isn't much you can't do at home that would be needed on these cars.

Man all these people saying to trailer a 911 seems like a bad idea...I owned my last 911 for 14 years without ever allowing it to be towed. Tow truck drivers will MESS you up. Buy the car and find an indy wrench but I would very strongly suggest you do not TOW or flatbed a 911 anywhere you don't have to as each time is a chance for a heart wrenching ending..
