I was browsing West Broward web site and couldn't believe I found a "T"...I decided to jump.
(I had seen someone had posted these pictures above, but hadn't taken the time to click on the video.)
I am very happy with the spec and the deal. (Don't ask.) As 911-TOUR says, I had actually spec'd this exact car online - and was just going back and forth between White and "x"... and in the past few days found more GT Silvers that I liked best. So this combination suits me very well. I also didn't want to wait 9-18 months for allocation and ordering from my dealer.
Don't judge me on the spec now, it is a done deal and I will be sure to be happy. (Basically, for my budget, I was trading RAS and LWBS, and ended up going with the seats on this car.)
Many congrats on your T! When do you take collection?
Looking forward to your pics and first impressions!
The quandary I am similarly contemplating (if I ordered). A $109k bare-bones 911T.... or a $123k bare-bones GTS??? Both have sports exhaust, chrono, manual.. Just a wider body on the GTS. Leather vs. fabric. I wouldn't do LWBS or Gorilla Glass.
Am I the only person contemplating a "broke bitchh" GTS for $123k? Or could this actually exist? Is it unheard of to order a bare-bones GTS?
Interesting... IMO, the 911T 'gives you a bye' to spec a bare bones car and not feel like you are 'cheaping out'. But, not the GTS.
Nope I also did a GTS in Guards Red with the only option being the dimming mirror, snd of course the free cargo net and smoking package. Still a manual fan, hard to teach an old dog at 68 new tricks. The only thing I don't like is the Faux CL wheels Of course you are in used 991.1 GT3 territory
Is it? I didnt have a chance to look on other 911s. maybe other owners can chime in. Its a cool feature imo...
Yes, that's standard. It is a sort of plasticized surface under the paint down there that reduces the chances of the paint chipping where the front wheels are throwing rocks at it. it just stands out more on yellow than some other colors.
When I had my car PPF'ed, I had the installer apply a second strip of PPF exactly aligned with that lower strip to further reduced the odds of chipping. Plus if the top layer of the PPF gets torn up down there over time it can be removed and possibly refreshed without removing the base PPF layer. We'll see how that works out.
By any chance have you driven a lot of other Porsches for reference when you do your write-up?
That would be a "No". I just tried a manual 2017 991.2 Carrera 4S, and a PDK 2015 991.1 Carrera S. Maybe for a 10 min drive each. So, no, almost zilch. I am looking forward to see how it drives as compared to my ex sure-footed AWD 2017 Audi TTS... (Which went plenty fast, and was plenty grippy on The Canyon Rd.)

Hopefully Monday or Tuesday March 5 or 6... so, a week from today. Gotta leave town this weekend, so a bit of a built in delay.

Congrats. I just saw that your spec has the LWB seats. Very cool. Can't wait to see more interior pics once you get it.
