Or hardware to the battery. Great threads in RL if you do a search.

Thanks. I always found it easier just to plug it in.

I do that on some of my cars. Found the interior lighter on Porsches can get loose after extended use with a trickle charger. Also prefer to have my windows completely shut when stored. It's all individual preference. The key is to keep these batteries well charged for longevity. Cheers mate!

Thanks, I'll try to find the link. But on my 09 997.2, I was able to run the cord under the passenger side weather stripping trough the bottom of the door. Its that not the case with the 991?

That's what I've been doing for many years. Plug in. Shut the door. Works great on the 991 variant, too.

Do you have a .1 or a .2? If you have a .2 your only options are the passenger footwell or hardwire to the battery, as there is no longer a 12v port in the armrest storage area. At least not on my .2 GTS.

Same here. There is only one 12v port in my C2 991.2 GTS.

I read somewhere that you have to lock the car for Porsche Battery Maintainer to work during long periods. That true?

It was on my 2013, but others disagree saying that it makes no difference. Regardless, you should alway lock the car as it turns off all the systems and saves the battery.
