991.1 Serpentine Belt Replacement DIY
#122
I recently took my 2017 C2S to the dealership for replacement of the leaking Coolant Pump under the Porsche extended warranty, and asked them to replace the serpentine belt since the car is now over 7 years old and has 37k miles. They charged me "half" of the labor at $200/hour plus $95 for the belt for a total of nearly $800. I am not pleased! Especially since they were already "in there" because they also determined that the leaking Coolant Pump had fouled the vacuum line and the Vacuum Block which is also covered by the Porsche extended warranty, if needed.
hate the dealer.

Just wanted to mention that I just did this on my .1 RS, and previously on my .1 GT3. This thread was very helpful. I basically just had a jack with wood under the engine just to make sure there was no drop when I got that bolt out. Loosened the other 3 bolts just a bit on the plate as others mentioned, to get that sleeve out (was able to do by hand). Other than that it was all straightforward, just some busy work to get the intake, engine cover off, etc. While I was doing this, just made a weekend of it and did plugs, oil change, cleaned filters, etc, etc. while in there. Thanks again OP and everyone for putting this thread together.
