I am dreaming about lifts, and at the same decision point. Right now, my real dream is this (no clearance issues, and always in place for lifting):

I've got a Carrera 4S with SPASM and have a quickjack and love it.

My Quickjack 5000 has paid for itself within the 4 or 5 months I've had it. Works on my 991 and my Tacoma.

I’ve been looking at this system for one of my other cars.

The portability is pretty nice when combined with the additional lift they provide over a portable scissor system.

Do the jackpoint stands get the car up high enough to do more than wheel changes/brake service?
If anyone can post a picture of their car with the quick jack on it, I'd appreciate it.

The Quickjack 5000 still works easily with the "tall" rubber blocks even after my 1" drop.

The quickjack 5000 has been a great tool and would highly recommend it. It took a while from when it was ordered but that just may be because they sell a lot of them. No clearance issue after the car was dropped on Eibach springs.

I found a set of four used Jackpoint stands, and finally got a chance to use them yesterday!

They were easy to use, and the car was not going anywhere once in the air. The only problem was not having enough clearance to get the jack (low-profile 1.5-ton Pittsburgh/HF) and Jackpoint pad under the car (SPASM 991.1 C2S), but was able to use some scrap wood to get a little more room. I will build better ramps before using the stands again.

The stands are great for my current needs of track-day prep (rotors, fluid, and/or pads) and winter/summer-setup swaps

Slightly off topic, do you guys know if this 996 Porsche jack will work on a 991.2 C2S

https://www.ebay.com/itm/02-Carrera-...YAAOSwg3taqxSm

The purpose is to keep in in the car on long road trips in case of an emergency.

Thanks!

Those jacks are called "widow makers" for a reason. Call roadside assistance, otherwise a flat-tire emergency could turn into a medical emergency

I plan to use roadside assistance as my first option and already have Porsche tire insurance.
I was thinking about the case where there is no cell coverage.

Any other recommendation for a portable jack that is safer?

Perhaps you might try the Pitts Automotive (Harbor Freight) Low Profile 3Ton Heavy Duty Jack (62326), which has a minimum lift of 2 7/8”. With JackPoint’s Low Profile jack pad you will need about 4 3/4” ground clearance.

^^^
I have that same Harbor Freight jack and it's still not low enough when used with the Jack Point low-profile pad on my C4 with PASM.
