I want to go get my polisher out and spend all day doing exactly that. Once it is a deep lustful black like that, there really isn't a better color.......

Every Porsche I have ever owned was either Silver (Arctic, Platinum) or Grey (Seal). But for my 991, I wanted Black, an uber-masculine color that matched the substantiveness of where I am in my career. Basically, wanted something more risky, more bad *** if you will, than the elegant but safe Silver. If you want a Black Porsche, and know going in about the delta in upkeep, go for it.

Not for no reason sado-masochists wear black. (You okay? Nah man, I'm pretty ****ing far from okay.) Still: impossible to maintain Black for free, or pay for the metallic. Which is more masochistic? One for the ages.

Just my .02, good luck with whatever you go with.
And I have never been a fan of any flat black. Ever. On any car. No matter how detailed.

Totally personal preference!

Love it. Bruce Willis. Pulp Fiction? Yes, I am a bit of a masochist now that you mention it.

Yep, I like the color that Porsche doesn't charge extra for. Anything that you can get from Porsche at no additional charge is a winner for me.

I get what you guys are saying and if it happens to be the color you wanted anyway, of course why pay if you don't have too...
However... after having gone through your build for the 100th time and all the associated agony that comes with making choices, changing them, adding, removing, adding back in more.... till you get to the perfect 991 for you (which will be well over 100K) to than say Naaaaa I'm not going to spend extra 1K for the color I want but go with the one that's for "free".... well that's just... lets say "silly"!
It is arguable THE most visual element of the car!
Just saying.

Unless it's color you really want

Love the purple metal flake in Jet Black. Since it’s work to maintain, I’d strongly consider PPF and nanocoat IMHO.
