Please note the Interstate AGM battery are almost $double the cost!

Correct! MT5-49 H8 is the AGM. Retail is about $300. The MT-49 H8 and MTP-48 H8 are wet cells. Interstate terminology is very confusing and using their battery finder gives you only the wet cells as suggested replacements (at least it did for me).

Yes it is. I did right this afternoon and replaced the recently purchased Interstate Battery with the “CORRECT - BATTERY” or AGM Type.

I just replaced my original 5 year old battery with the Interstate MT5-48 H6. It has similar size, weight (45.6 lbs), specs of my original Porsche battery. It's also AGM.

Step 2 - Open the Frunk and remove the top cover with the Porsche stamp on it.

does the top cover have to be put back? What’s wrong with just leaving it off? Every ounce counts. 😎

Heck, for that matter if you've got a Manual, skip the battery replacement all together and bump start the car.

Good news: Interstate dealer is giving my a full refund on the MT49 towards the MTS49AGM... bad news is they are on backorder and not sure when it will be available. I had originally chose them because the nearest Batteries Plus dealer is 150 miles away. So for now my car sits...

You need the ballast up front. A true enthusiast will 303 it before replacing.

Well, that is good news and bad news... more good than bad! Sorry it ended up taking you down for a while but at least you'll know the car won't risk getting acid in the wrong places.

Yes, you don't want the tray to look like this!

Maybe I'm missing something here.... Why is everyone going with an aftermarket battery vs. the OE one?
