With quality oil, and avoidance of short trip driving especially in colder climates, it may be heresy to say this, but the change interval can be extended without consequence.
I wanted to point out 2 things in your post:

1) it can take much-much more than 10 miles to hit +180 degrees in the oil temp from an initial start....more like 20 in the early spring and late fall drives....maybe different in FL?
2) Not since about 2005 did Porsche have 20,000 mile oil change intervals, not sure where you pulled this number from

6 months or 5000 miles, whichever comes first. Cheap insurance if you plan to keep the car.

Google Mike Miller's old school maintenance. It's familiar to (and deals with) BMW, but many of his points are valid among most modern cars - increased plastics, failure points, components and maintenance schedules designed to enable the modern German cars to get through warranty period with minimal maintenance costs. As he points out, increased maintenance costs vs Lexus/infinit et al were/are a hindrance to sales vs those brands.

Not sure how short trips is inferred especially since he “was away a lot” but whatever.

I'd say 10% of the mileage so far has been short trips with engine not coming up to temp with the remaining 90% being 20+ mile trips of spirited driving once engine warmed up

I'm going to change the oil
