All of my later models Porsche cars, except for the Macan, have done this. 981, 991.1, and my brand new GTS in the first 40 miles. After reading this thread I’m going to try draining some of the washer fluid and see what happens after that. I looks terrible and does not take long to appear after washing the car.

I rarely use the washer fluid, but it returns, regularly, shortly after washing the car. I also rarely use the car in the rain, and it only happens on the driver's side. Maybe some factory coating or residue finding its way out?

I've had similar and it greatly diminished when I had our car wash guy stop putting whatever it was he was putting on the tires. Apparently high speeds must throw it off the tire

I don’t use tire dressing other than a very light coat of 303. I would think it had to be a broken line but this seems to be too common for so many cars and Porsche doesn’t know about it? As you can see on my Miami Blue car it looks Horrible, I am going to solve this, as I am not dealing with this every time I drive the car. Yep, First World Problem.

Finally a detailing issue where a black car is a plus.

I have a GTS (picture), he has a GT4

I can see how my post could have created that confusion.

Okay I drained the fluid out now getting the fill error, can I use distilled water?

Did not mean to empty it but whatever, was not sure how much was in there. Had my wife spraying the car down with water as I did this from the inside of course.

Oh and how anybody ever drive these cars in the rain? Once done I opened to door to get out an a drop of water hit the seat bolster, I immediately got it off with a towel, but now have the dreaded slight spot on the perforated seat issue, for the love of God, really? I mean I love this car but it leaks wiper fluid onto the outside of the car, and you can Never let a drop of water touch the seat.

So here are the 2 questions,

1. Can I put distilled water in the wiper tank?
2. Which leather conditioner can I use to give a uniform look to the perforated leather so I don’t see the slight water drop spot.

1) I don't see why not. Worst case, just drain a portion again, and add some real washer fluid.
2) I use Zaino Z10.

The washer fluid they put in the 2017 I bought always leaves a nasty residue on the windshield.

Thx, I added 10 oz of distilled water to the reservoir and I am no longer getting refill errors. I will roll with the distilled water as it never gets below 50 here in SoCa. No need for the anti-freeze cleaner.

i also took a micro fiber towel lightly misted with distilled water and wiped the seat bolster and immediately wiped it off, looks like it evened everything out.

will report back on the streaks, hopefully draining and a lower level will resolve that.

Yes the marks are caused by overflow from windshield washer reservoir. When you've used it a few times the problem goes away. The manual claims the filling quantity for the windshield/headlight washer is approx. 0.65 gallons (2.5 liters). Be sure to tell the service advisor you don't want them to over fill the reservoir during service (good luck with that!).

OBTW, you probably won't have a problem in CA, but those of us living in cooler climes will need antifreeze in the wash water.

Reporting back on the streaks. Took a 100 mile drive today, no steaks on the side of car, looks like draining it 100% and refilling with about 10-12 ozs of distilled water solved my problem.
