It should have been called the ClubSport, or RS America which would have more accurately described what it is. The 911T was originally the poor man's Porsche after the 912 was discontinued. Even the 914-6 cost almost enough that most people just opted for the 911T. The 911T was always the entry level car although not in a way that made it more sporting than other 911s up the food chain. The exception of course was the '68T of which about 20+ were factory prepped with a '68S engine as the T/R, but they're not calling this a T/R so I still suggest it is mis-named by marketing people who don't understand the heritage but are looking for cool old Porsche models to capitalize on. The 997 Speedster and 991R are perfect other examples of marketing gone awry.

IMHO.

It’s hard to argue that. It definitely not a budget 911!

Congrats! If I were ordering a new 911, it'd want a Carrera T for sure. I think it's the best value-for-money on a new one right now.

i went through the same thing when ordering my GTS. It’s a fun process. If I were ordering a T I would do this.

yeah, but you wouldn’t get the T... you’d have just an S of which there are many. so much of the allure is the fact that Porsche made this a distinct model produced in limited quantities.

I’m sure it’ll be a sick car, but a lot of it is marketing fluff. It’s how many lbs lighter than a base Carrera? I mean no offense to OP. But this is how Porsche sucks us in. Like the 50th anniversary edition or whatever lol

wild build! What part gets painted exactly when you select the ‘Lower Rear Fascia Painted’ option?

No offense taken and yes, Porsche is a marketing machine. But to be fair, the 50th was quite nice as I suspect the T will be too!

I ordered Red with the Carrera T interior with red stitching. Shooting for an April or May delivery at the LA Porsche Center then driving to Tahoe for the summer. I am excited about a limited edition nicely equipped drivers 911.

The piece I have circled here or even closer to the exhaust pipes?
