Default Fire at the Turbo Supplier for Porsche?

I have a a C2 GTS that was accepted into the ordering system only to be told today by my SA that there is now a delay of at least 9 week’s due to a fire at the company that supplies the Turbos to Porsche.

Can anyone confirm this and has anyone else been told this? Thanks.

You have to watch,....dealers will give you a build "slot", but depending on circumstances they can and will jerk you around when there are other factors at stake.

Say a very good customer comes in and wants a GTS ASAP,....and buys a nicely spec'd Panamera off the lot,....good chance they will get their GTS sooner then you.

Have the dealer actually give you the build ID,...show it to you on his PC (ordering system) and even then you don't know if they are holding another build slot ahead of you.

It could be just what they are saying,....or something else. Good luck....

I would think/expect, for such a critical part, Porsche would be dual sourced for this item?

See, yet another reason I prefer the greatness of 991.1 NA. These newfangled turbos are always getting hot and catching on fire.

You may need a .2 because you can't even pull on a Mustang GT in your GTS

Then you're ready for a 914. Or maybe a 912, on second thought.

I’ve heard the same regarding a Panny 4S that my dad has on order. Makes sense the 911.2 engine is manufactured at the same factory as both are turbo engines.

Wait....isn't the GT4 faster on a track than the .1 GTS? Maybe I have my memory wrong. I recall 7:40 for the GT4 on the ring but can't recall what the GTS was at.
