Default 2016 GTS has a new home

The deal is done and she’s home. In the end I decided to stick with PDK (be gentle)… after more thought about my weekly 4 hour drive through Seattle and considering the price premium and difficulty finding a manual. GT Silver, 32k miles, 142k build, and full leather black interior. Very happy with it!

Congrats!! Really awesome color and spec’s out amazing!

I love the PDK -
same reasons you mentioned and also launch control is fun.

best platform for mods and engine sounds great. I will say with a few add ons this car will hang with some of the super cars out there.

Default new to me 2016 GTS

hey everyone, wanted to share a pic of my GTS. I'm loving scrolling through these photos here and of course getting behind the wheel!

The car is actually Rhodium Silver but has a green wrap that I am really loving. Would you say it's Irish Green or another color?

Definitely wanting to get aftermarket exhaust, probably Soul Performance, and would like to add the ducktail wing but will need to see if it can be wrapped in the exact matching color.

Looks fantastic, congratulations!

The wrap is very similar to Irish Green and also British Racing Green (although that can vary a bit by manufacturer).

You probably know this, but wrap vinyls are rarely called by, or are bang on, their "official name" or colour eg. something like Irish Green might be called something Emerald Green by a wrap company. There's countless different companies and vinyl colours. The only way to get an exact match is find out the exact vinyl it was wrapped in Brand/Colour eg. 3M Pure Green. I've made that up but you get the gist!

I got a pretty exact match for Riviera Blue with Oracal Fjord Blue vinyl but there was no way of telling if it was 100% same as Porsche factory Riviera Blue. Pictured on my 997 GTS attached.

Happy searching, would look even more fantastic with a ducktail 😍

Soul is the choice of a lot of knowledgeable 911 owners 😀👍

I love it. I bought a GT Silver GTS similar to yours. I get it with having a manual and all that stuff. I have a GT3 for THAT and driving in the mountains. But if I get caught in bad stop-and-go LA traffic which happens all the time it can take something that's supposed to be fun and make it a chore. PDK is great. Beautiful car. Congrats.

EDIT: Does that sticker on the hood stop there or is there more to it? I like it.

Yes, only the hood so far. I just installed that decal last week. I do have the roof and rear but that will definitely be more involved so I thought I’d do the relatively easy hood portion first, mostly to see how I liked the matte silver on GT silver. I really like it. The matte silver is very subtle but still stands out just enough. The roof, with sunroof, and the rear with that damned satellite antenna wort, will be more involved ...so I’m saving that for when I’m feeling more zen!

My last 991 had PDK also, but with the multi function steering wheel. I came to hate manual shifting on the multi function. What an incredibly unsatisfying experience. Never a replacement, but PDK with the Sport Design paddles is actually a nice compromise to full manual imho. Personally, I think all 991 multi function steering wheels should be sent to the depths of H@LL lol.

I originally ordered the Porsche version ($300) from Suncoast, only to find out its a special order that would take 8-9 months to get. So... Ebay to the rescue. Seller matched the matte silver I was looking for and it was WAY less than $300.

Thanks! I’m really liking the GT Silver. Its really a nice color in all lighting and the metal flake up close in fantastic.

I always liked the look of black rock guards and finally have a color it works with. That was the first thing I did… remove the clears and install these matte blacks

I don't know why you would remove the clears for the added protection they offer. Mine were removed on delivery to the original owner and he had larger XPEL clears installed at the Porsche dealer. In fact, he must have spent quite a few thousand $$$ on the XPEL he had installed before taking delivery.

I thought about leaving original clears on but in the end, since they had aged, I was concerned the new wouldn’t adhere well. I ordered the Porsche (EDIT: these are Suncoast brand not Porsche) black stone guards and they are VERY thin. Ended up going with KI Studios version which is thicker.
