OK - are you able to connect to PCM via Bluetooth while still wired? (My PCM already announces Waze alerts over the FM tuner while connected via Bluetooth - its an option in Waze/Apple Maps). Please test this because then I could leave audio on FM, use CarPlay, and still potentially hear nav instructions via Bluetooth. Thanks!

For now the system doesn’t connect via Bluetooth with the aftermarket CarPlay unit. The phone has to be tethered to the PCM and tuner selected to the [AUX] function to receive full functionality of the CarPlay system. I’m able to set the tuner to the [FM] selection while the phone is tethered and launch Waze and view my destination on the PCM display and as before no audio from Waze, just pop ups, speed, heading, etc.

Hi All

Where are you placing the USB female connector to plug the phone into? Having a tough time getting it into the glove box.

Thanks

The Harness loom with the USB connector is not long enough to route to the glove box. You will need to attach a separate USB extension. I was informed by the vendor the length shouldn’t exceed 18 to 24 inches otherwise you may experience connectivity issues.

I placed the female USB in the arm rest storage it’s the best location and it does not need an extension

Thanks for the reply. How is it routed to the arm rest? Also I can’t get the PCM back in with the box tucked behind it. Is there a way that I’m missing?
Thanks for all the help! I’m inches away from the finish line!

Please take a picture/s of your wiring and where you placed the Integration box to help guide you accurately with the installation of the PCM.

I'm in Shenzhen China once a month for work and I'm going to give the Unichip a shot. Instead of paying for shipping/tax I thought why not buy locally. Wish me luck with installing this in my GT4. From what I read this system is ready to go as-is but upgrading the mic helps. If anyone else needs the kit and is local in SoCal, I can get more.

Hi All
i want to give a huge thank you to Sidvicious7. Sid spent over an hour of his time on the phone helping me with the radio mod. I did my install and lost my FM due to the removal of my SAT radio board. Sid talked me thru the solution along with email and texts. He even offered to send me some parts if I needed them. Sid is one of the reasons that this board is so great, people that are passionate about their cars and the willingness to help others.
Again, thanks Sid!

Best

lesson learned, don’t remove the Sat radio and use the risers, mount above it right?! I’m going to install mine in the near future

Yes... You will lose FM radio if you replace the SAT board with their replacement board. Hence the risers or creative zip ties are necessary. Ask me how I know

Roughly how long did the install take you?
