Default Radar detector recommendations

Ladies and Gents- what would be your recommendations for the best radar detector (not hard hired) for my incoming 991.2 C2S? Recommendations and rationale much appreciated?

I use an Escort Max 360 and love it! I highly recommend it.

Uniden R3, has long range and A LOT cheaper than Escort. Has frequent firmware updates too. Uniden listens to its customers and act on their concerns - unlike most of other companies.

i have the escort max 360 also and its decent. Ive actually seen the escort redline has the best reviews and distace. They dont sell it anymore as they have an updated one that has worse reviews. I ordered one on amazon and its supposed to arrive in a few days. Ill let you know. Ive had several radar detectors and the 8500 is garbage.

I was looking at the new Redline Ex. It’s pretty confusing.

My only radar detector experience has been with a V1 since sometime around mid-2000 when I relocated to the mid-west. I got the urge to get a radar detector the hard way. Shortly after moving back there got pulled over by some young officer barely out of police school trying to impress a young woman he had riding along with him. Ended up getting all the tickets dismissed but it prompted me to get a V1.

Saved my butt a number of times, not only from tickets, but by making me more situationally aware and thus not only avoiding tickets but accidents as well.

Like the V1's arrows, number of bogies, the indication of from which direction the strongest signal is coming. The unit has been quite reliable though I did need to send it in twice when it developed a problem. In both cases the check to cover the cost of the repair -- said check I included in the box along with the V1 as directed when I called in to arrange to send the unit back for diagnosis/repair -- was returned uncashed. Both times I called and was told there was no charge for the repair.

V1 is the one I recommend.

Uniden R3 is the best one on the market right now for window mounted RD in terms of range and features. Incredibly, it isn't expensive either. It could hold its own against $3K-$8K systems and sometimes even outperforms them.

I'll take another photo to include my rear spoiler up, the PDK in manual mode, WITH the Escort 360. The trifecta.

I’m ready to throw my Passport MAX 2 in the garbage can and buy a V1.

I tried to switch to the Passport MAX 360, but the software doesn’t support Mac.

In a recent radar test (which seems to happen every month) Valentine came out on top.

And debate continues. That’s why these are so much fun. Plenty of as well.

There is no best. All about what you like. The V1 people will always say that is best. The Escort people will say that is best.

Same guy that wants to throw away his Escort will be plenty that want to throw away their V1like I did, all 3 of them.

Have both. Love the 360. Hate the V1, too many false hits.

No ticket in 5 years, I go buy a radar detector and on the first day I got a ticket in my completely manual (including windows) cavalier for going 100M/H and written for 95M/H. That was in 2004 and cop was using laser.
