6:47.3 LAP TIME SET BY 911 GT2 RS!

What is even more impressive, to me, is that they ultimately broke the record with TWO cars and TWO different drivers. http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cult...e-nurburgring/
Although the 6:47.3 was the quickest lap, both drivers with both cars did several laps all under 6:50.
A 'Ringer this is not....which is more than we can say about other manufacturers that routinely set so called records on tweaked cars made just for that purpose.
I truly believe that anyone can go to the dealer, plop down many $$$, buy a GT2RS, install the roll cage and carbon bucket, give the car to those two drivers, and the car will run under 6:50 all day long. truly amazing.

The drivers were Lars Kern and Nick Tandy - tremendous skill with average laptimes >103mph and peak speeds in excess of 310kmh (193mph). Brilliant effort.
Apparently Nick was concerned about the turbo lag and Lars felt the throttle response was off. Walliser thought it was a staubsauger
Preuneger was heard to say "Jetzt bin ich gefickt, ich habe allen schon seit Jahren den Peak Porsche gesagt, das manuelle GT3, Scheiße"

Unbelievable, I was riveted the whole time watching that scalpel of a beast.
I knew the second they announced the GT2 RS that it would beat the 918 Spyder's time. There honestly isn't a more efficient performance chassis than the 911. Always doing more with less.
