991.2 GTS vs Portofino
Not the best comparision, I know.
California was compared with similar priced 911 turbos, and turbos were the usual winners.
How about with the new, prettier and lighter Portofino vs GTS?
GTS, top of the line, nimble track car with a tradition?
vs Portofino, a girl's Ferrari that behaves more like a GT car? with the usual FR setting?
Would GTS be the choice for the spirited drivers?
or is Ferrari still a Ferrari?

Don't think anyone is cross shopping a $240K Ferrari with a 991.2 GTS that's $100K+ less
Want a beast of a car, get a GT3. Naturally aspirated high revving BLISS.
What's with the Carrera vs. Ferrari chat anyway?

I love the portofino...if I was looking at a convertible, I'd go for the ferrari, but talking about a general sports car, GTS RWD coupe all the way all day long.

Not an appropriate comparison, I agree.
But cross shopping, yeah, because you sometimes cross shop a SUV and a coupe given certain situations and personal preferences.
I am asking if it's worth spending that extra 100K for the new, lighter and prettier entry Ferrari. Is this Portofino sports car enough? Is it still just a hairdresser's car? If its better than California T like they say, would it be as nimble and racy as a GTS? Or is it still just a luxurious FR GT car?

Since, depending on configurations, the Portofino is on average a good 300 pounds heavier than a 991.2 GTS, with a higher COG.
A better comparison, if one must use the 911 Carrera platform, might be the Targa versus the Portofino.

that's a beauty. If I wanted a car to drive only on the weekends, would strongly consider Portofino. The problem is, if you drive a Ferrari much it will break. Dealers are nowhere to be found. Also, put more then a few miles on it yearly and nobody will touch it on re-sale. Since I enjoy driving my cars, its Porsche all the way. They are made to actually function and work properly for extended periods of time and miles. That is a damn good looking car though...
