Seat question-4 vs 18

Seat question-4 vs 18
I tried the 18 ways and they feel great but would love to save weight, money and complexity and order 4 way sports plus. So far dealer does not have 4 ways to try.
The 2 adjustment parameters that interest me are bottom tilt and side bolster tightness. I was happiest with the 18's set with the seat bottom angle about 50% of the way up (the midpoint of the adjustment range) and with the side bolsters inflated about 70% of the way. My question is where along these adjustment ranges the 4's are fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 4 way's have power adjustable back rest angle and rear seat bottom height (angle) plus manual slide of course. The front seat bottom height is fixed and as long as that "fits" you, you're fine. Personally, I liked the seat but missed that height adjustment and found it a little bit stiff, as the 18 way's would be also.

There is no way you are going to get a technical question like that answered here (where along the spectrum the non adjustable seats are sized?).
Not even a Porsche employee would know something so technical.....they might be able to guess but not have a definitive answer. They don't make their own seats anyway.
Your best bet is to go sit in one. You said your dealer didn't have one with 4 way seats. Did you try a Cayman or Boxster? They use the same seats. Does your dealer have any of those? If not try a used one (the 981 or 991.1 range). It's all the same. The big difference is advanced airbags in the 2017's, but not seat shape.
If you don't need lots of adjustment and memory for other drivers, the 4 way sports seat plus are great.

I had the 18's in my Turbo. For me, I thought that the amount of adjustments were overkill.
Went to the 4 ways and I have never thought that I wish I had the 18 ways. However, it seems that you have a preference for a position that the 4 ways likely can't accommodate. The only way to know for sure is to try the 4 ways. If you are in Seattle, you can try mine!

We have 4-way in the '08 Cayman and 14-way in the 991/50. Wife reasoned that her getting a base Cayman meant go minimal on options because once you start adding them on, you might as well set the S model. She is very low maintenance so the 4-ways were fine. Our CPO 991 has the 14 way and I think they are amazing, but when I drive the Cayman I honestly can't tell a difference. Once you set the seats, there you are. Good luck!

The simple 4 way seats, favorite of most knowledgeable euro buyers have been well honed by Porsche to place a driver in the most advantageous position. The pitch, padding, lumbar are pretty optimal for fast, long-distance, twisty road driving. Unless you have some type of infirmity, or are extra broad in the beam, or just a fussbudget the ‘less is more’ philosophy works well here. At home if you gravitate to the big ol’ Lazy Boy recliner then get the 14 way, it was developed with a mockup of a rather large American buttocks. The 18 ways suit a slim taut figure but the endless adjustments can be counterproductive. For instance, if you lengthen out the front of the seat cushion to replicate your favorite chaise lounge your leg will now be constricted when working the clutch.
The 4 ways are 60 something pounds lighter per set and can adjust down lower than the fancy seats. If you’re a man of normal stature try lowering your seat right down for spirited driving. Makes you feel like you’re connected, driving in the car not on top of it.

Seats are individual and you just have to sit in this things to decide. I am slim with an athletic build, @ 5'10", 167 lbs, and contrary to the general advice on this forum -- 18 ways were not comfortable, whereas 14 ways were. Maybe I just have "fat American buttocks"? I was happy to pay less.

Agree with rk-d. Disagree with Jennifer. Sit in them all. Personally I like 14 way. The others have a higher side bolster which I don't like. I don't track my car so I don't need the bolster which makes ingress/egress more difficult. No one can help you on this. Try them all.

I went with the 4 ways in my order because of the manual fore/aft position... My kids are going to riding constantly in the back seat and to get in the back it's much easier to pull up the bar and move the seat forward instead of the pushing forward the seat toggle and waiting for the seat to go forward.
Also the rumored 70 pounds it saved (From not going with the 18 way) was also attractive
