48 here. Have had 2 997s (MT), 3 991.1's the last one being a 2016 GTS (all PDK). Now have a 2017 991.2 MT and love it. Loved my GTS too but didn't love the PDK as it got boring for me.

61. Never drove .1 so did not vote. I guess my GT3's don't count, nor my Honda Insight 1.0L 67hp.

74. Previously owned a 991.1 base MT , 944S, various high performance domestic V-8s, British roadsters, and misc other performance oriented vehicles.

Love the torque and handling of my present 991.2 S MT. It combines the best of both worlds. The other old guys, all two of them, seem to agree.

You really can't tell much from the data. My vote for the .2 iand low end torque comes from previous ownership of the E39M5, 427 Cobra, Z06, AM DBS, BMW 335d, Ferrari 550. All stump pullers. How would you get that from my age?

You could perhaps say that "old dude's" have had a longer time to try more cars and thus know exactly what they like by the time they hit 70.

Or maybe old dudes could enjoy cars that didn't suffer from regulation!

40 - prefer Goldendoodles and the growl of the .1 NA engine over the .2. I keep Test driving the .2 trying to feel what everyone keeps raving about but I never do.

Love the one you're with! When I can afford a .2 or 992? then that! They just keep making them better imho. Oh, 58 and had 7 911s!

33, NA all the way. My daily driver is a modified Golf R with nearly as much HP, but it's just not the same feeling. All of my fondest car memories are high revving NA engines (S2000's, NSX's, BMW Z4 M Coupe).

(1) You have to factor in the length of time these vehicles have been on the market

(2) . You have to factor in earning power e.g. perhaps younger buyers are looking at CPO .1s as entry level vehicles etc.

(3) How many of the voters are 991.1 owners and likewise 991.2 owners

Also, driving a turbocharged Bimmer, Audi, Subaru or VW is not the same as driving a 991.2, its as silly as saying driving a NA Bimmer, Audi, Subaru or VW is a proxy for a NA 911 - the latter has been debunked many times, as has the former . Thats why people buy Porsche sports cars they are very different from the pack.

I am going to disagree with this statement at least on a personal level. When I went out to buy a 911, I knew I wanted the NA engine. That is why I sought out the newest 991.1 with the lowest miles with all of the right boxes checked just like I was ordering it. I wanted to get as close to new as possible. While I do hate paying for extreme depreciation on a luxury toy, there were plenty of good .2 examples available that I could have gone for. If there are two cars that were identical in every way except the engine, I would take the NA, perhaps pay even a little more. The one thing I prefer on the .2 is the PCM and steering wheel.

Ownership bias is certainly going to play a part in the voting. Some may have bought the .2 or .1 based on factors aside from the engine. But since they already have it, they might as well back up their purchase Just like my interior, I probably would have gone with a black/red leather interior but mine has yachting blue; It wouldn't be my top choice on colors but since I have it, I have grown to love it and have convinced myself that it is the best color now.

I also respectfully disagree with that statement. Just as Capt had said I wanted a 991.1 that was as close to new as possible.

In fact, I wished that I could have ordered / purchased one new as it would have been much easier than what I went through to get mine and I would have gladly paid top dollar to get one.

I'm 52 and I much prefer the .2 engine. I should also say I specifically did not want PSE either. I've had plenty of high HP NA engines in my life and my brother and cousin have had NA 911's in the past that I have driven, though this is my first 911. The cars I presently own are both FI. An F150 with an EcoBoost V6 and my .2 base. Turbo lag is virtually non existent in well engineered FI engines these days. I have nothing against the NA engine at all, I just prefer the FI over it.

As expected, the data tells us nothing of importance. Age has nothing to do with preference of the cars, nor does wealth.
