CarPlay music question
Hi,
Just got my '18 TTS with Burmester. Great sound, definitely improved over my 991.2 Burm, but maybe I had an issue with that one. was ok, not great. this one much better.
question - when I am connected to CarPlay, the small PCM screen in dash does not show the list of songs behind it as it does when connected wired or bluetooth and not CarPlay. Is this normal? I also assigned the diamond steering wheel key to skip to next song, and that is non functional as well. The right/left arrows on the radio work fine though.
What am I doing wrong, if anything, or limitation of CarPlay?

I believe that's a limitation due to CarPlay. Overall I haven't been a big fan of CarPlay, mainly due to the functionality of the Messages app and not being able to read text of messages on the screen; I'm finding that only Siri will read the actual texts, and it messes up very often

I have not noticed any sound difference, really even Bluetooth sounds good, and since you can control even Playlists and things from the PCM, I usually listen from Bluetooth since the phone doesn't have to be plugged in
Honestly I think Apple CarPlay is overrated after having had it now for 6 months

Interesting. I use an iPhone/iTunes playlist I Hard loaded on to phone in ALAC. Same as FLAC. Lossless. It really sounds great and hoping will sound even better when I install Musicar’s tweeter upgrade. Can’t wait. I may just put the music on an SD card or two and go from there.

I thought only the Bose system that needed the upgrade through MusicCar.
I did not “need” the upgrade but the same upgrade is available for the Burmester as well. While it won’t perhpas make as drastic of an improvement they are still tremendous tweeters with great reviews. A few people have done them. Only thing different is the connection clip and we save $100 because we don’t need new grills.

junk IMO. Google maps, useless. I think most people don't even use the NAV on the PCM.. not a fan.
