Here's a breakdown of the installation time, for those of you thinking the dealerships are throwing out a bogus number. Keep in mind install time may vary and labor rate is not the same at every dealership.

So basically 6 1/2 hours just for the turbos and flash. That sounds about right for a dealer.

Well what was a reasonable price for the parts becomes an unreasonable price with installation costs.

That certainly appears to be the case. At least, that's how I see it from my knothole.

Typical Porsche so far. I’ll wait for aftermarket turbos with a flash...

Far cheaper mod, that you can actually carryover to other cars and doesn’t expire or effects warranty, is learning to drive these cars properly on a high performance driving school.

The really big aftermarket costs are all back loaded while OEM are front loaded. Take your pick.

Installation does seem to be a lot of time but Porsche sets all of those. What a dealership will actually charge could be more or less, but no matter what the labor will cost you, it's a lot cheaper than replacing a turbo or other piece of hardware if a failure occurs. You're 100% covered with the X51 retrofit.

Worth it in our eyes. Retail on one GTS turbo is currently $4,689.78 and $4,192.68 for a Base/S turbo

Suncoast thanks for posting the tequipment document - I have a similar document that is about thirty pages long from Porsche that covers all the installation process and parts but not the time. It is clearly a great deal .

My parts have had be ordered from Germany which will take a couple of weeks and based on my timing I will have the car fully up and running by the end of august. Full warranty and no dramas. The labour costs, at most (over here) $1800 = $USD 1350.

Congrats. $1350 US for the installation is super! I'm faced with approx. $4700 for the "complete installation." With due respect to Suncoast, and despite the promise of a warranted kit, I'll have to pass on this...bargain.

^ I can't believe that Suncoast are charging $400 US an hour or more for labour. It doesn't make any sense. The total cost of my full installation, parts, labour and taxes is ~$USD9200 (unless theres anything unforeseen).

I think you would be barking mad to pay $US4,700 for labour.

Just to be clear, it's my dealer not Suncoast who is asking over 23 hrs to the tune of approx $4700US for installation cost alone. The total cost out the door is....hold on...$12,200! I was looking for a price in the low 9000's . While I am still waiting on bids from two other dealerships, I am not at all hopeful.

Why it is necessary to instal PSE? As I understand where is no any difference in performance between PSE and standard one on Carrera S.

OK that is way, way out of line - ask them for a break down of the hours. Ask them why their quote is radically different from Porsche recommended installation time.

Glad to hear that wasn't a Suncoast number - they were very good to deal with.
