Default why does the AC and infotainment always come on at startup?

I have been noticing it on each start-up and I always turn off the ac and fan before I turn off the car (haven't figured out how to turn off the infotainment system either). Also what's with the mirrors going down at reverse?

Mirrors dipping can be changed. Go to settings in vehicle menu.

The audio system always coming on is a design flaw. No way to prevent that.

Funny. I have same issues which turn out to be "normal" according to my dealer and PCNA. Key memory has no bearing in these 2 cases. The AC I don't mind but sometimes I just down want to hear the music first thing in startup. 🙂

You can set it so that AC does come on in the key settings but you can't set the blown air to off. I had the same issue in my 991.1 (same occurring on 991.2) and we tried it across all the other 911s in the showroom and they all started up with air (not AC) starting up on turning the key. Other models however such as the Cayenne you can set it to all off and it works, just issue with 911s.
If anyone figures it let me know, me and dealership have tried every possibility in the settings with no luck.

Pressing the power button on the radio actually only puts it into standby mode, so when you next start the car, the radio comes on again. To keep that from happening, before you shut down your car, press and hold down the power button for a few seconds until the screen goes dark.

Remember reading the automatic blown air at startup is a safety feature. Don't remember specifics but helps with ventilating fumes, or something to that affect. As a result it's not something you can program off.

Well that's good to know. Initially my concern was that them coming on like that would drain/kill the battery. I know in other cars if you leave stuff like that on before you turn it off it will lead to dead battery.

Could be worse. A local TV station recently reported on BMWs spontaneously catching fire under the hood when parked. "Off" is not truly "off."
