Default Sharkwerks vs Europipe

Hey guys,

I'm currently running Sharkwerks exhaust on my 991.1 TTS and while it is good value and sounds muscular at low rpm, there is a bit of drone. From what I read on the forum so far I am leaning towards Europipe...

Can someone please chime in and offer your views if you heard both exhaust in person on the differences in sound?

Thanks,

I agree. Shark sounds amazing. Although OP wanted to know. Europipe does not have drone

I had my Sharkwerks exhaust on my 991.1 TTS before swapping it onto my 991.2 TTS and it's pretty damn perfect for a street exhaust, IMO. I really like it.

I've done a few trips to/from LA-SF with both cars and while it's not as quiet as the stock system while blasting down I5, it's not too bad. There is a bit of drone in 7th gear at highway speeds in normal mode, but with the windows up and the AC on I don't remember noticing it.

Sharkwerks with stock cats = NO drone (unlike the stock exhaust)

Mike, I'm curious, does your 991.2 have any different qualities than your 991.1 TTS?

I loved my 991.1 TTS, but the 991.2 is better in every way. The infotainment system, while not perfect, is at least current and up to date with recent technology. It feels quicker around town even in normal mode because of whatever re-mapping they did. It also feels to drive a little cushier than the 991.1 in comfort mode. Having the wifi option in the car and the app to control a bunch of random stuff is pretty cool too.

Having a heated steering wheel and radio controls on the wheel is also a big deal for me, not having that option with paddles on the 991.1 pissed me off so much I'd regularly bitch at the German Porsche employees at the european races I did in 2016.

I've been thinking of taking it out for a track day to goof around, but after the 25 Hour I think I'll be done with Thunderhill for a year or so. What group is running on 12/17?

I have a 991.1 TTS. Started with sharkwerks center muffler delete which I really liked. Also did a center delete on my 2016 GT3, which i have since traded in for a 2016 RS.

I have recently upgraded TTS to a BBI barcode exhaust, added an IPD y-pipe and plenum and Cobb tuner. The performance from this is ludicrous. I have BBI intercoolers coming to the house next week to complete my build.

Although I like sharkwerks, The BBI exhaust is hands down 100 percent better than the sharky both in sound and performance.

On my 991 GT3RS, my buddy and I installed the BBI side muffler delete and I love it. We took my old GT3 sharky and put it on his GT3. And that's a fantastic exhaust too.

Hey charge69. The Europipe sounds better to me in person. The Sharkwerks sounds flat and only increases in loudness when accelerating away.

Hello Fleadh, The group going out is SpeedSF...we're also at MRLS 12/26 but after 'The 25hrs' I wouldn't want to get onto another track for a while either
