Default 991 TTS GIAC Development Car

What's up Rennlist. Just picked up a new 2015 (at a nice discount) and I'm going to hand it over to GIAC along with my 997.2 TTS for the world's first Porsche 3.8 DI fuel system build. Planning to run as much e85 as possible with as few mods as possible.

Details to come soon.

By the way I'm just a customer of GIAC. No affiliation otherwise.

Cheers.

Can't wait for the results. Our cars have been screaming for a fueling upgrade.

Are both cars getting the Ethanol treatment?

I have yet heard of someone converting a 991 to Ethanol.

To my knowledge if it works this would be the first E85 conversion of a 997.2 Turbo or 991 Turbo.

I don't think it will get all the way up to e85. Some blend of pump, e85 and maybe meth injection will allow for a lot of timing. The ethanol blend will require more fuel capacity hence where the fuel upgrade comes into play. But it's not just for e85 blend applications. It can be used for pure race gas for a FBO upgraded turbo car as well.

Will be fun to see the power gains the new fuel system allows for.

So the car can run on High Test once converted to E85/Gas blend? Or did I read that wrong?

Congrats on getting the GIAC full Monty.

There aren't plans to do a full e85 conversion; rather the fuel system upgrade will result in a higher peak fuel capacity at full power. If the current stock fuel system is good for 650 wheel HP then the upgrade may be able to handle 700 whee or more. This will enable me to run a mix of e85 with pump gas and meth injection. Or, just race gas and meth injection. Dyno testing will see how much power GIAC can extract on various combinations of fuel. But the important note is that they solved the fueling issue with this platform and will be able to get enough power to blow up the stock motor and PDK so tuning down the power to optimal safe level while extracting the most power possible is goal, regardless of what fuel is used.

I am. It seems to be pretty similar to the exhaust for the 997.2. But I don't know anyone that has it yet and I would like to hear it first. Also considering GMG catless and Tubi catless. With the BBI exhaust I could go catless or go with cats since BBI offers the cats to be in the place of the mufflers, away from the turbos (helps keep EGTs lower).

Those shouldn't be too constructive at all with the planned power output (Air Flow in then out, more power more air). Besides 100's are pretty big.

Update: My 997.2 TTS is at GIAC now getting the fuel system done on that car first. Real world testing will be done at an airstrip event at the end of February. Thereafter I plan to sell the 997 and have GIAC put the new fuel system on my 991 and run some mix of e85 with just tune and exhaust. Like anything automotive R&D related, it will take some time but we have waited over 5 years for a fuel system upgrade on the 3.8 DI motor so what's another few months.
