992 Turbo S

Yeah just camo, especially the rear bar slots and engine lid vents which would no way be the finished item. .2 will see the typical minor cosmetic changes to the rear bar and the lights, and a very minor bump in HP, like on previous gen 2 TTs. Unlike 997tt.1 which had a lot of room for improvement, the 991TT.1 is about as perfect as you could expect shy of moving the engine even further forward. The new steering wheel seems to be the only thing visually new on the inside. Probably throw in a few current options as standard equip, get new wheel designs, tweaks to the suspension and gearbox settings etc. The exhaust will likely get a tweak up (which it needs). I wouldn't be waiting 2 years though which is basically how long it will be before you can get your tail into one as a custom order. But it will be a better car no doubt. They don't make em worse. The changes may prove enough for some folks to change up but for many it will depend on the pill size I imagine. Certainly wouldn't stop me from buying a gen 1 right now. Life's too short to be waiting around talking about it. Far better off driving one now then worry about it later on if gen 2 eats at you.
Edit: I see there is no longer a sports or a sports plus button on the console anymore, just the pdcc button. Looks like a new control fixture mounted off the side of the steering wheel hub, that has a multi function arrangement where hopefully you can switch between normal, sport and sports plus modes instead of reaching down on the console. Good idea! With any luck access to the pdcc in other modes will be available other than in just sports plus. Seems such a waste not to be able to do that.

the new wheel is awesome and good riddance to those STUPID toggles.
Ive always thought the sports buttons on the console were inferior to the manettino. Hopefully this will spread to ALL Porsches.

Manettino is definitely better, although the body, larger PCM screen and steering wheel seem like incremental changes to the current version to me and the body changes are hardly noticeable. If they put a 4 liter turbo in the next version of the 991 with a significant, not the usual 20 hp bump, it would get my attention. I'll just wait until the big changes are made in the next model, which I expect will be a hybrid with 700 hp or so. In the meantime, I will just have to endure the excruciatingly difficult work of adjusting volume, activating/deactivating sport, sport plus, phone, and PDCC with the toggles. Fact is that the TTS is a good value for the performance right now. Any guesses about the base price boost for the 991.5 or whatever it will be called?

I agree. It's also simply too early for the 991.2 turbo/Turbo S to come out. With this said, there may be some changes to the 2016 model. If there are, I expect we will hear about them some time this month.

The black frame still noticeable behind that larger "screen".

Not sure if anyone here has driven a macan or new cayenne yet but to me the new wheel had a rather cheap plastic feel about it. Unlike the current sports wheel, the hub is not solid alloy, and just uses a cheap aesthetic plastic cover to give it the look.. So the look is new and the sports wheel has functions now, "but"...

I totally agree! The next big thing AKA 992 Turbo will be a hybrid Turbo to separate it from the other "turbos" as most future 911s will likely become. In fact if you mount two electric motors up front and place the batteries mid-ship, you start to approach 50:50 weight distribution. Two tons of fun here we come!
