Default awkward Question

hey guys... I'm new here. I'm SO gonna get a turbo S (to no small credit to all your awesome comments provided here!). It's a done deal. But, honestly, I struggled to make that decision. It's against my conservative nature to do such a thing that outwardly appears so flamboyant. And quite frankly, I struggle with the cost of these vehicles (not personally, but the message it sends). I like the Turbo S because it is understated in comparison to anything that provides this much performance (and hence, fun). I'm curious about the net worth of people that buy these things -- and of course that is an awkward question. I'm coming off an M3 (love that car -- and gonna keep it so I can row gears when I miss that feeling).

How do you guys justify this "toy"?

I also can easy afford the TS,but struggled when I bought my first 2011 TS because it is a lot of $$$ for a car.Did it anyway ,now couple months ago bought a new 14 TS at 200 Large and am very happy with decision. May buy 918 Spyder ,well see...Going to Porsche factory next month...

Lost several people I really loved recently, big lesson for me that life is very short....

Make your money and enjoy it......

Net Worth.....Big $$$$$$$

We all work hard and if you cannot enjoy the fruits of your labor from time to time, then whats the point? you cannot take it with you...

Most people don't notice a 911. Net worth here varies a lot I suspect.

Despite what you may think, people don't give 911's a second look. Ubiquitous car, looks like any other 911.

Besides, you don't want to be the richest guy in the cemetery.

The obligatory "career choice/net worth" thread again, ugh.

^ yep it's a little bit nosey isn't it. Bottom line is if you can buy one just do it. What's the next guy's bank balance got to do with it?

As far as appearances, for what the TS is, performance wise, I think it is THE most discreet super car, and even the most discreet of the current 911's - I am thinking engine sound here. In terms of cost vs. net worth, I just didn't think an extra 40 or 50K made that much difference relative to a reasonably optioned Carrera S or 4S, and just went with the 911 model that I thought best fit me.

I was considering a C2S on the lot that didn't have park assist that my wife wanted, so my wife suggested I order a Turbo - was nice to not have to justify it...

Awkward and inappropriate.

A 911 flamboyant? Maybe in Somalia.

I agree. The OP's post is inappropriate. I would also guess that the stigma created by those who so comfortably make fun of Somalians is something the OP is trying to avoid.

A few Porsches in the garage and a witless quip at the expense of a nation with severe poverty problems helps us all. Thanks.
